I've been single for two weeks, almost three, and I want to get back out into the scene. But I don't want to appear like I'm desperate and I'm not looking to jump back into a new relationship but I want to have some fun and play the field and enjoy my younger years. Any ideas on how to get back into the field and not look desperate?
How do I make myself appear available?

How long was your last relationship? How much do you have to "catch up" on?

What's the longest you've been single between relationships? Are you a serial monogamist?
If you've never been single for longer than a few weeks, seriously.... Try just being single for a while. Learn what you want, instead of taking the first offer.

Be friendly--let them know up front you are not looking at a relationship but want to date and enjoy getting to know people for awhile. Have fun, do activities you like and do not flirt obsessively.

Could be a good time to get refamiliar with yourself. I know it reads kinda hokey and silly, but it's true. You may find that things that used to both you a year and a half ago don't really matter.
There's nothing wrong with waiting a bit. Just surround yourself with some friends and have fun!
