BABY SITTER. If this is not an option, find the place furthest away from them in the house and bring a baby monitor. Get the area you choose ready ahead of time and bring a laptop or stereo with you for music or a movie. Bathing/showering together is always a nice ritual as well so maybe work that in?
My kids are 3 and 4. I still cant close the door when I have to poop. Little buggers

Yep, if a sitter is not possible, make it an early bed time night for them. Have everything ready to go. bath, story, bed on time.
Do you have a crock pot? You could have something cooking in there all day. A nice hearty stew, a roast and potatoes, soup. with the crock it is ready to go and there is no having to worry about doing all the work.
Once the kids are in bed the 2 of you could enjoy a nice meal together. Maybe throw some candles in the mix. Just a nice, quiet, grown up meal.
Retire to a movie and some alone time and enjoy

If that works, it sounds awesome. I cant put my kids anywhere, NOWHERE is safe, not because my house isn't child proofed, it just isn't MY child proofed. My 3 year old can climb.... EVERYTHING. I'm actually surprised she hasn't figured out how to scale the walls yet.

I hear that baby benadryl and dimetapp works wonders for keeping the kiddos down for the night. If you're um into that kind of thing. *snicker*
Seriously, I have no advice for you as I am not a parent just wanted to drop in and say I hope you get the night you hope for and let us know how it turned out!

Way way too easy. Though, I have found that my pot roast does much better on my electric stove than it does in the crock pot. Possibly because it takes forever for my model to heat up properly and I get a nice boil/simmer on the stove.
