My husband is my best friend. We have so many common interests that it is hard for me to hang out with the girls, I want to share the time with him. Anyone else like this? We have been together 14 years!
Is your partner also your best friend?

Absolutely
I don't know what I would do without him, or where I would be, nor would I want to know! He is my best friend and the one I run to with everything

Oh definitely. I tell him things that I would be FAR too embarrassed to tell anyone else. I have girlfriends, and we do girls nights out sometimes, but I'm always happy to come home to him. Sometimes it seems he knows me better than I know myself! (Plus, I get to have sex with him, it's a pretty sweet deal! lol )

Definitely hes my best friend I tell him everything and we can talk about everything even things we don't have in common we can easily get into a long conversation about. We long spending time with each other and there is no other I would rather be with

yes, ofcorse. would not be that great of a marriage if she wasn't.
08/22/2011
Yes, I could only marry him if I considered him my best friend.

If you are happily married for 20+ years - as we are, you are certainly best friends. But I have to say that I have male friends - mostly cycling and golfing buddies who are good friends. These friendships outside the marriage are very important as well.

Most definitely. I tell him everything except for things that I get him as surprises. Being able to sit and talk and talk and talk about stupid things, or sit in complete silence comfortably, are priceless.

Yes! For 14 years and counting...

It is so nice to hear that! We've only been together for 5, but we do call each other our best friends. Nobody knows me like him and I've never been close to anyone like I am him. It is nice to be able to do that. We're there for each other through everything and I don't think our friendship/love will change. One thing about him is I can tell him anything and I can be myself, the person who DOES make mistakes and isn't perfect and doesn't always look beautiful and he still thinks highly of me. That is something Ive never experienced in a friend or partner before.

Yes, my husband is my best friend. We share everything. We love to simply "be" with each other. We don't have to do anything, as long as we are together we are happy. When we are apart, he is at the forefront of my thoughts. We work well together, we move (literally, like cross-country) well without feeling like we are at each others throats, we travel well together, and we handle strife together famously! I adore my husband and I value his opinions, he is hysterical and makes me laugh 'til I cry.
My girlfriends do not understand why I don't want to go out and do stuff every weekend with them. I love staying home, I really don't care to spend a lot of money out on crappy food, when my husband is a fabulous cook, and quite frankly, I love my husband's company!

I figure if anyone can put up with all my shortcomings and not only still find me tolerable, but LOVE me, then there is really nothing else I need. We're constantly telling each other "you're the best thing that's ever happened to me", or "I don't know what I'd do without you". Yes, it sounds corny, but it's the truth.
04/25/2012
Yes.
04/26/2012
Yes, I would say so. We both have close friends and other best friends. I think you can have more than one, and she is one.

I'm in the same boat as you. I've been with my partner for 5 years this summer and I feel like he's the only person who really does get me and accepts me no matter what.
