The adult industry convention or somethinerether this year released news of the first 'robot girlfriend' - an AI robot sex doll that holds a conversation and reacts to touch. (Personally, since it looks like it has a neanderthal skull, I can't imagine anyone getting turned on by that.) It can't walk (the mechanics and such for that is still decades from realization), but ... wow.

I used to have no problem with the idea ... hey, if it has self-awareness and is consensual, then what's the problem ... But it just sort of seems squiffy to me at this point; perhaps it's the 'uncanny valley' effect. More data is required.

remember when grant from the mythbusters on a lie detector test said he thought about making a female robot. so i think we already have one, he is just hogging it for himself. if anyone can make a robot it would be grant because i believe in his abilities, this lie detection test was like 2 years ago....

he has had sufficient time for a scaled alpha prototype simulation model of a sex-bot, it wouldnt be completely "intelligent" but it could have touch activated sensors for user "input" for a starting model. then he could just steal artificial AI with his ability to invent time travel (because inventing time travel would be far easier than trying to create a new species). ^^

i dunno who would fit the profile better to be the first to invent sex-bots other than grant. he's to nerdy/smart to not win first!

Ok, so if my robot looked like a real guy and I could pick out the specs (you know, six-pack abs, nice, thick cock, must be made of sterilization silicone, of course, etc. etc.) and if he could do laundry too..then hell ya!

I would never swap it for the real thing, but I always figured that if I couldn't get a hold of a decent partner - then a robot would be the next best thing for me.
