My boyfriend says he loves the sexy school girl outfits, but i have never tried it. I was wondering who else had and if you had any hints or tricks on how to make it sexy. I'm going to surprise him for valentines day.

Since I'm a teacher myself, we don't do the school girl outfits because it just doesn't do anything for me. However, we have done other outfits/costumes that we really enjoy like playing doctor!

Crop tops - or tie the shirt up high to cover just the breasts, but keep several buttons undone. Extremely short skirts - plaid is typical for the character. Thigh-high stay up stockings in white (if you can find any that actually do stay up). Super high heels, like black mary janes.
For 'school girl', pull your hair up into pigtails or a very high ponitail. Carry a notebook and pen (the pen in the mouth schtick works wonders).
Don't wear panties - sitting down and facing him and opening your legs at times (very innocently) is part of the game. Have a ruler nearby for him. Ask questions about anatomy/biology in relation to sex, or even ask 'Why does it feel SO good when I do this??' and illustrate the idea by showing him.
Just a general outline. Hope it helps.

The wife and have I tried this over time, different things and all. Sometimes they work great, sometimes they're just weird. It has to be something kinky you both like, or it will just feel weird.

I've never found the schoolgirl uniform thing sexy, but that's because I was a schoolgirl in a uniform I hated for 8 years. Oh, Catholic school, you SUCK.
However, I do understand that a lot of people like it. You could try knee-high socks in white or a colour that matches your outfit instead of thigh-highs. This would be especially helpful if you have trouble with your thigh-highs slipping, or if they dig into your thighs. Though, you could get a lacy garter belt, which would solve the issue and add a little extra sexiness.

If I'm going to "dress up" I'll wear stockings and garter belts or corsets. Or just a gauzy scarf, nothing else. I'm not fond of the "School Girl" look, so I don't play that, myself. My Man isn't into it, either. That's just us. If it works for you, go for it.
