usually it's easier to think about sex, masturbate, then go to sleep
Does thinking about sex help you sleep?

It helps me sleep better.

Thinking about sex makes me horny, which if I can't get off then I get grumpy. So I can end up awake and grumpy when I want to be sleeping.

I agree with this answer...It will keep me awake thinking about it but once I orgasm, I sleep like a baby.

Sometimes it helps, others it wakes me up more.

Sometimes it keeps me up if it turns me on. Or I end up having a really awesome sex dream if I fall asleep.

In general, thinking about pleasant topics helps you to relax and subsequently drift off. But sex, for many, is also a very exciting topic and thinking about it can result in a person getting "in the mood," which might make sleeping harder.
If you were trying to sleep, would thinking about sex or fantasizing help or hinder you? less

I do it all the time, I create a really elaborate scenario to keep my mind occupied so I don't think about stressors that will keep me up
06/02/2012
that my favorate thought before bed
06/06/2012
Thinking about sex keeps me awake until I get a release of those thoughts

I don't know what thinking about sex by itself would do. For years now I've gotten off nearly every night, so I think that helps me fall asleep. My body expects it now. Haa.
06/17/2012
It helps, and gives me better dreams
06/18/2012
Yes, a lovely little fantasy always helps me sleep. An orgasm obviously helps me sleep better

Thinking about sex tends to keep me up at night, not because it excites me, but because it tends to cause me a good amount of anxiety.

Definitely doesn't help me sleep.

Thinking about it keeps me awake (I know this from many years of scientific study ). Doing it, on the other hand puts me right out.
06/21/2012
Thinking about it would definitely keep me up, but actually HAVING sex before bed puts me out like a light! Works for both of us!
06/21/2012
thinking of sex keeps me awake, however the subsequent self relief makes me then go to sleep
06/24/2012
no, thinking about sex keeps me awake bc I want to do it, lol.
06/24/2012
Thinking about sex has never made me fall asleep.
06/24/2012
It make me sleepy
06/26/2012
Imagining any sort of scenerio helps me drift off to dreamleand but it does usually happen to be something dirty

Thinking about sex will keep me awake. Having sex on the other clears my mind in a way that nothing else does prior to going to sleep.
05/07/2013
I regularly do this to help me sleep.
05/07/2013
Keeps me awake I have to turn my mind off when I want to sleep, if I can't then I have to get up and clean a room until I'm tired enough to sleep.

Yes, this. When I was younger, I would think about sex every night and it would relax me and put me to sleep. Lately, it seems like it only arouses me and I can't get to sleep until I act on it.

It just depends. Sometimes I can fall asleep and sometimes I just get really aroused and have to act on it.

Thinking about sex keeps me awake. It would just make me horny and I can't sleep when I'm horny.
05/07/2013
It makes me want to have sex. Then I can fall asleep.

I can't sleep if I am thinking about sex..it makes me horny and want to take care of it. Orgasms help me sleep though.
