K and I have been dabbling in swinging for about 2 1/2 years now. We found a wonderful couple through SwingLifeStyle.com and hit it off with them. We met several times and have since played with them several times over the last couple years. We have to keep it a strict secret from family and friends and we often struggle with the taboo nature of it.

Has anyone else ever dabbled in swinging, polyamory, open relationships, etc. and if so what was/has the experience been like for you?

My ex and I did and I did when single too with other couples. I enjoyed it, but found the process of meeting/greeting and getting to bed was time consuming and complicated. It's like the work of dating x2 to find a couple on the same page/attraction and even then all 4 might not be necessarily into the same things.

Swing parties I found to be a bit cliquy and too much drinking involved, not enough sex. And if there was sex it wasn't until the wee hrs of the morning when people had enough liquid courage to get it on in front of others.

I miss it though, but my partner is not the type.

The bf and I are starting to experiment with some stuff involving others. So far it's been good, a lot less awkward than I would have expected. I thought that it would really bring out insecurities in me, but it hasn't. I have a feeling that now that we've started, that we're only going to keep experimenting.

Currently swinging (met through SLS too). Married couple who share a girlfriend. It is a work in progress!
