With yesterday being Valentine's Day and all, a friend and I were just discussing how her boyfriend cooked her a candlelight meal and gave her roses and chocolates last night and how it was so romantic. Those things don't do much for me, so I always figured I wasn't a romantic, and I'm good with that. But maybe my idea of romance is just different, a little less traditional in all likelihood. So what is everyone's idea of romance here? The traditional stuff or your own thing?
What is your idea of romance?

A romantic evening in my opinion? Wine, pizza, candles, silly movies, loose clothes, lots of talk, and wandering hands.

Romance to me is having him actually listen to me and then following through, not giving into every movie cliche. It's an individual experience for everyone, definitely not a one size fits all affair.
Sorry, Valentine's Day wasn't what I had hoped it would be yesterday. I'm thankful to be married to a wonderful guy but I'm still a little sad about how his ideas differed from mine. ~ Arms

Quality time, doing a little bit of something he loves and something I love. Our most romantic moments are far from any story book ideal. For example, a few weeks ago we painted out basement and I being a big clutz, knocked over the paint bucket. There were my little and his huge footprints all over the concrete floor. The other day I came home from work and noticed he'd taken a picture of our feet, framed it, and hung it up crooked in the kitchen. To me, that romance.
