I'm getting into that age division where a lot of my friends are getting married, myself included. But, I find it weird how some of them are getting joint facebook accounts. Especially my friends that are just dating...why would you have a joint account??? Weird? Or not?

I would not do it. If you want to see something on my page I would gladly show you. I don't need a joint fb account though to do it. What is it for to keep tabs on each other? I think it is insecurities.

He's more than welcome to have the password to mine, i have nothing at all to hide from him ... but i dont see point in having joint accounts....

I hardly use the account I have, why would I want to deal with a second one? Heck if either of us wanted a post to reflect a statement by both parties we'd just use "we" and probably tag the other.

Maybe they're excited about their new status and want to be seen in a joint account.

I hardly ever go on facebook, so I don't really pay attention to who has a joint account or not. I don't really care honestly, since it's their decision. Do I think it's a little weird in general though? Yes.

It's a little strange to me, but whatever. To each their own.
09/29/2012
um no
09/29/2012
It doesn't matter to me but personally, I prefer my own page. Hubby has his with his friends and I have mine...but to each their own!

For myself and my partner we have our own accounts. Each of us have several none mutual friends an he uses his for his friends and I use mine for mine. I think its good to have separate accounts.

Joint facebooks would be very uncomfortable.

We had joint one before because we only used them for a few things. It was easier to create one account and for us to share it for things you have to use facebook for.

Even though I don't have a joint one, my husband sometimes "borrows" mine just to check on family news because he doesn't have one of his own.
I do know some people say they have a joint account because some employers demand their account/password information, but can't if it's a joint account.

aren't they intended for personal use?

Hell no. I would never have a joint account.

We have been together going on 12 years and we would never think of a joint account. Many of my friends have them and it is very irritating. Then again I have a friend who lives with her boyfriend and they have not even friended each other on Facebook, so I don'y know which is worse there. I love having separate accounts to flirt with each other.
09/29/2012
I wouldn't do it, it just seems kind of surreal. Not that I don't share everything, I just don't see the point of a shared account
09/29/2012
It is against Facebook's terms and conditions to have more than one account per person, even if it's only half of an account extra.
09/29/2012
It's a bit too look at me for my tastes. I would probably joke about it if I saw one of my friends do it.
09/29/2012
Meh...it's not for me.

I see the appeal, but I feel weird tagging both people in pictures, or writing on the wall, when I only want to write to one person!

I don't think it's weird but I wouldn't do it.

Neither one of us has a facebook at all, so I don't know.

Seems kind of weird. I don't think any of my friends have joint accounts either. At least not that I've noticed. It's a little too cheesy for me, plus my boyfriend knows maybe a quarter if not less of the people on my Facebook. Most of my Facebook friends are from high school and we grew up and went to school in different towns. He doesn't even have one in the first place, either.
09/30/2012
a bit strange
09/30/2012
I really don't give a damn.
