I do the laundry and put it away which I absolutely hate!
Do you do your partner's laundry?

I do the laundry for the entire family. It seems to be easier that way because we have to take the clothes to my mother in laws house

I wish you had an "Other" option!
We usually alternate, putting our laundry in 1 basket and then when we absolutely have to do it (run out of undies or socks lol), then we will take it down and do it while taking turns. Most times, one of us puts it in, the other checks it and puts it in the drier, then whoever is free brings it back to the apartment. (Laundry room is in the basement.)
However, my parents don't live too far away from us, and we're usually short on quarters... So if I am ever driving down there, I end up doing the laundry all myself.
We each put away our own clothes, though sometimes I end up having to do his because he puts it off and I want the basket again.
So I guess I end up doing more of the laundry.

He does most of the laundry, I'll occasionally do it though.

I do all the laundry now. I'm super picky about my laundry being done, and since we have kids I have to do it.
My boyfriend doesn't check pockets, hampers, or shake out clothes before he tosses them in the washer, he literally picks up the hamper and dumps it in lol. Since he has done that I've washed more than my fair share of Hotwheels cars, Found gobs of spaghetti mashed in with all the clothes, crayons have ruined socks, shirts, khakis, and he never used a mesh bag for the baby socks. With a front loader washer it's a must. I've had to take apart the washer 3 times since we've had it to unclog the socks that get sucked under the belt and down the draining tube lol

we take turns doing the laundry

We don't do laundry together (separate houses), but neither of us would really be in to sharing laundry duty or assigning it to one person.

I don't want him anywhere near my washer and dryer. I don't want him near my stove. He owns the sink and dishwasher. He does not want me near his lawnmower, and he can have the vacuum. It is a division of labor that simply has worked happily for us for three plus decades!!!! That is the KEY to long term happiness...finding the points of compromise and comfort.

Just sit down, HONEST, and talk out, "since I cook, can you do dishes"...etc. Guys can be dense about such things. (My hubby is right here, and agrees). They may not have learned to task share (especially if older generation), so lovingly help them along to a fair distribution of labor. Most of the time they WILL happily do it.

I take care of the house. He pays the bills. I hope we can even that out at some point in the future.

Sweet sentiment...but when she says "what an amazing guy he is...what exactly do YOU do "all" of???" Hopefully something if you want to keep that happy home happy.

Be careful, however, putting a stake through the laundries heart once you catch it...if it is cotton, well the fabric can be repaired, but those polyesters just unravel. P.S. if the Jeans just get up and run on their own...leave em be. Just too dangerous, those things.

I do most of the laundry. She helps with the kids clothes and hers/mine when she feels like she needs to.

I Do my Fiancee's laundry and my own, it's just easier that way.. otherwise, he wouldn't have any clothes to wear (:

I voted that my partner does the laundry, but that isn't entirely true. For most stuff, we each do laundry when we need something washed. For some delicates and "special care" items. She does it. Apparently, I don't know how to take care of fine washables, but for some reason all my flannel shirts fit her better than me now.

the wife wont let me touch her new washer

I just did the laundry. Every now and then i put something in the dryer thats not suppose to. Told my wife i need a chart with pictures of what cant go in the dryer. I have yet to get that.

We do our own laundry or take turns.

If I didn't do the laundry he would just wear dirty clothes. He hates washing laundry!

Rarely but sometimes I do the laundry. However, in my defense, I work full time and have about an hour drive each way to get to work whereas she is retired and so does not have to go to work.
When I was first getting to know my previous long-term partner, my now deceased spouse, I did the laundry, even ironing, for both of us in the dormitory. I remember she told me that when she'd told her mother that, her mother had asked if my father was widowed... perhaps I shouldn't say but thinking about that now has brought me to tears.

I do 90% of the laundry, but if I ask my husband or kids to help out they will. I don't mind the laundry. What I hate is dishes.
