Did your longest lasting relationship(s) start without as much chemistry as short term ones?

It's kind of funny now that I think about it a few months shy of a 3 year relationship, but for about the first six months of it, I was super concerned that it wasn't going to last very long because it wasn't all fire and passion. We made fast friends, had many similar interests, and were brilliantly matched (by some mutual friends) but I didn't know how long that'd carry us.

I'm glad to say our relationship grew really comfortable, is steamy as heck/actually far more intimate and serves my most personal fantasies better than anything else I've ever experienced, but comparing that with my exes, I'm starting to think that make a HUGE initial spark of interest like in the movies isn't always realistic. Or even common.

We both had an attraction to each other. And each day, wk, month, year, it grew and grew. It's a give and take. And we both gave and gave and gave. We still are today, and yesterday, and tommorrow.
