So while scribbling, I began to wonder exactly what a 'lap dance' is. I hardly watch any movies that would feature such things and I haven't watched porn, so I'm really wondering what's entailed in such an activity.

Well, I was going to link you to the scene in Closer when Natalie Portman is dancing. Honestly, going to strip clubs doesn't really appeal to me, unless it's in Windsor or that other border town by Port Huron (you can touche 95% of the dancers).

Really though, I hate being teased in any way/shape/form and clubs are all about the teasing.

I do lap dances for my boyfriend ALL THE TIME... except he doesn't have to pay and he's aloud to touch, and even suck when the breasts come his way. He could never just sit there with my body right in front of his face.

A lap dance is basically a woman standing in front of/very close to a man, twirling around showing off her body while naked/ mostly naked and possibly even rubbing all she has in his face etc etc etc.
