I love getting her flowers and chocolates and things, and I don't need a reason other than she's my love.

Other--I don't do flowers. I generally stick with stuff that will last a while. Gifts in general I kinda do randomly, though.

I'm not a fan of receiving flowers. They die. I'd rather receive gifts that I can save as memorabilia. So, I'm kinda glad my man doesn't buy me flowers.

I rarely get flowers for a specific occasion. He does tend to surprise me with them though. When he is away, sometimes he will arrange to have them delivered to me to let me know he is thinking of me. I don't know how he does it, but no matter the time of year he always manages to make sure I get my Stargazer Lilies!
I did buy flowers for him once. There was something to say for sure! It was, "How dare you forget our anniversary AGAIN!" It was our 5th or 6th anniversary and he completely forgot it, for the second year in a row. So I hired a limo service and a lady (she was to be all dolled up, in a silver sequin gown with a side-slit to her waist-she was a knock out)to deliver a box of long stemmed red roses to my husband at work (on a military base). I thought the guys would tease him for all the hoop-la and pester him about who that woman was, but what I had no idea about was the fact that the woman I hired got extremely sick the morning of the delivery. They could not get ahold of me to ask what to do, so they went with their only other option. They sent a hot guy in a tux to deliver the flowers to my husband, at the base (in the middle of the day), instead. Oh, how I wish I could have been there for that. I don't know why I didn't think of it myself in the first place. The guys teased him relentlessly.
Can you believe he still forgets our anniversary every year after all that?

I'd rather get him other gifts than flowers, but I have bought flowers in the past. Usually I buy him special just because gifts whenever I see something he'd like.

I like to spoil my wife just because, and flowers say I love you, because sometimes I don't tell her that often. The flowers usually also come with chocolate truffles my treat.

I don't do flowers, but if someone I knew loved flowers I would buy them for them.

well my man gets me flowers no matter the occasion.

Flowers can brighten a room and make a lovely 'just because' gift. A thoughtful bouquet of favorite or unusual flowers is also an awesome gift... I'm torn!

I like beautiful flowers but I hate it when they die...I prefer something that will last a while from a lover.

I do things just because.

on occasion

My SO does not like cut flowers so she does not receeive them, ever. I like to get her little gifts instead, for no real reason...sometimes they are toys from EF!

I buy them for the occassions, and usually about once a month beside. I tend not to buy roses, just the seasonal flowers that are a nice color variety. They tend to last longer and are a little less cliche. I will also try to get her little gifts occasionally as well. I have one close female friend that I shop for as well because our interests are very similar so I can shop for her and buy things that I would like to get as well, so it is actually a lot more fun to shop.

both

My hubby likes to buy me flowers on occasion, just because....but I am not a huge fan of them, as they just die in a few days anyway!

my love does both although it's not necessary, i hate that they die in no time!

When we're LD, my OH usually brings me flowers on my arrival..always unexpected for some reason, and always sweet. He'll bring me them 'just cos' occasionally too.

So my gf acts like a guy a lot of the time, and with flowers she says "I don't want them or believe in them". So then I send her some "just because" and she treats me like a king. My advice gentle people: send them flowers randomly once a year "just because"...even if they say that they think flowers are tacky.

There wasn't an option for me so I'll just comment. My husband knows I prefer plantable flowers (rose bushes, gardenia, lily, cannas, hydrangea, etc.) so he'll buy me something to plant for Mothers Day/Anniversary and then all spring and summer I can go out and pick flowers.

He doesn't do flowers. I do like bringing him jambalaya (his favorite food) at work though, just for the hell of it.

My GF likes flowers, but doesn't love them. She thinks they're cut off from their life supply (which is true unless the flowers are still attached to their original plant) and that they're dying everyday in front of her.
Very occasionally, when I do have something to say, I will buy her flowers that are beautiful to appreciate, even if the beauty is ephemeral.
