It depends on how long we've been seeing each other firstly. That should be discussed pretty soon into dating. Also, it depends if he is the primary care-giver or not.

Since I'm 45 & doubt anyone much younger than I would date me, I guess I just expect there's either a divorce &/or children in the picture. Neither of which bother me unless there's significant drama in the family. I guess as a younger person who might be dating as a means to a serious relationship and perhaps having my own children, I would be more choosy about the situation because there are more young people available without the added baggage. Regardless, I agree with KrissyNovacaine that it should be discussed soon into dating.

I'd absolutely date a guy with kids. That way, I don't have to worry when I tell him that I'm ABSOLUTELY DONE WITH HAVING MORE!! I have 2 of my own, and I'm ready to work on my career, no more changing diapers!

I would, but I think I would prefer that he not have full custody since I am not that great with kids and would like alone time with him, but would want him to be involved in his kids life

It would be a deal breaker. I'm willing to date if he wants them but hasn't had them yet (like I'm doing now), but if kids are involved, forget it. I don't want them getting used to me in their lives and then having to go through the inevitable break-up, I don't want to be known as "the daddy baby's new slut", and I don't want to fuck up someone else's kids.

I want children but don't know if I would be able to have my own, so dating someone with children would be something I'd be open to in the right circumstance -- letting the kids know I'm not going to replace their mom, a civil relationship with the children's mother, etc.
