A while ago, Edeneve posted the discussion What are your dating turn-offs? After thinking about it, I thought it only fair to start a turn-ons thread. At the very least in an attempt to rehab my reputation based on my lengthy list of turn-offs, LOL!

I don't want to influence the responses too much right off, so I will only mention one of my dating turn-ons:

Hey, RonLee, great to see you again and thanks for answering. As usual, I couldn't agree more with your comments.

Very good call on these and not your run of the mill answers, thanks! I don't know if I would have thought of the last one, but I sure agree with you. I also find that a university degree, or graduate degree for that matter, is no guarantee of intelligence And how nice to see someone appreciate when another person is passionate about more than one interest. I often feel like there are so many people who have no passion to speak of (and I don't mean a passionate self interest, lol). It sounds like those traits you mention would make for an engaging and successful date!

In no particular order...

- Open mindedness
- Good hygiene
- Manners
- The ability to hold an intelligent conversation
- A true sense of humor (vs. he's obnoxious but thinks he's funny)
- Someone who doesn't follow trends just to look cool
- Someone who doesn't believe he's a sex guru (because that type is usually the opposite)
- A mellow disposition overall... no hyper chatter or being an attention ho

Ohh, can't say I disagree with a single thing!

Love that you specified "vs. he's obnoxious but thinks he's funny" LOL! Seems to be a lot of that going around nowadays

I'd add to the "Someone who doesn't follow trends just to look cool" to say, no pseudo-iconoclasts, either, lol!

As I think on it, a lot of what I agree with in people's choices has to do with a person's maturity level.

This is pretty much my thoughts on this too...

I tended to struggle to find women I could carry a conversation on with... I think it's become easier for me as I learned to communicate better and online dating became an option. So the smart and able to carry on a conversation with me is a key attractor for me. It definitely helps if they have a passion for things as well, as this allows me to get excited about what excites them.
