The importance of zodiac signs in dating?

I am curious as to what y'all think about how important having compatible zodiac signs with a potential partner. Personally I think it is a little important.

I don't pay attention to the Western signs, but I do somewhat believe in Chinese horoscope. However, I refuse to stay away from a guy just because our horoscopes aren't compatible.

My husband and I are both Tigers in the Chinese horoscope. According to Chinese horoscopes, two tigers would make a great couple if they can stop fighting with each other over who’s in charge! And for us, that's not accurate because we might have an occasional argument over something, but we have never fought in our twenty-one years of marriage.

This is my take on Zodiac signs, please don't be offended if what I say bothers you. Now after having said that...

Zodiac signs are over generalizations of behavior. How is it possible to accurately describe several peoples behavioral patterns based on the day, month and in some cases the year and time of day they were born? The answer is, it's not. To me this is just noise. We all display elements of various signs at varying points in the day, week, month or year depending on our circumstances and other mitigating criteria.

For me, I say, Zodiac signs are just irrelevant noise.

Zero, Zilch, Nada. Come on, there are a hundred, billion, billion stars just in our immediate galactic neighborhood. How, exactly, does the position of a few that happened to be visible to ancient man without telescopes, have anything, in any way, to do with your life or my life? Do the position of the bushes on your property or the way the cars are parked on your street the day you were born have some intrinsic effect on you or the rest of your life? Think about it. Those items are far closer then those stars!!!

A while back, I started hanging out with a new group of people, and a lot of them were convinced that Zodiac signs meant something. Often one of them would ask my sign after we'd talked for a while. I'd pick just some randomly, never my actual sign, and they'd spend the next five minutes explaining that they just knew that was my sign, because it totally fit me.
