Not too serious - but still long distance.

Does anyone have good advice for dating someone who lives quite a bit away who you're not in a long term relationship with but you're still exclusively seeing?

I've been in a long distance relationship for over a year now. A very, very long distance relationship -- he's in the UK, and I am in the US.

The best thing is to schedule times when you will speak, so that way no one is left waiting and wondering. Also, e-mail and skype frequently. Plan visits, even if they're not for awhile, too.

TRUST!!! thats only way it'll work.. must be trust, be honest and open about everything, even your fears, i've been in LDR or going on 2 years now... he's moving down here in 2 weeks (finally!!! yay!!!) but it took a ton of patience and understanding on both sides, and the love to make it worth while!

Visit each other when you can, we tried or atleast twice a year, and use video chat programs often so you can see each other and see the love in each others eyes.

It is VERY difficult, and if you arent truly in love then its just not worth the effort.. but if you truly love each other you'll find a way

Talk talk talk. Phone, email, chat, whatever. Communicate and talk. Communicating is super important in any relationship but way more so in a long distance one. Even if you're just talking about silly shit, just keep talking.

Treat it like in person relationship as much as possible. Email, call, and video call often. Makes phone and video 'dates' and keep them. Communicate openly and often. Visit as often is affordable.
