Meeting guys at a community college.

Contributor: Nissa Nissa Nissa Nissa
I'm an aspiring 3d artist/animator and I'm just finishing up my summer semester at community college and haven't really met any guys.. well.. I met one.. super immature 22 year old who blew me off the next week. ANYWAY.

Think it'll be easier to meet guys in fall or spring semester? And how can I be less shy?

Believe it or not this site has given me a bit of self esteem where I had none. I feel like I'm writing neat things that people appreciate and find helpful. I <3 this site!

I have never met a guy my age I could stand. Try meeting someone off campus, or you could always try online dating if you are the choosy type.

Well, it's my experience that most people you are going to meet at the community college are going to be similar to the "super immature 22 year old who blew [you] off the next week". As for being less shy, well, you kind of just have to bite the bullet and talk to people, even if it takes you a bit outside your comfort zone. You could do the cliche thing and go to binge drinking parties to loosen up and be cool, but I wouldn't recommend it! lol.

OR! You could just stalk freshmen in the fall. They'll "fall" for anything!

I guess I'm kind of lucky in my field because the first day there are like 4 women in the class.. and the next day there are only 2. More men for me :x lol jk

It truly is a matter of relating to others. Any art clubs? Rotary? Environmental club? Creative writing? Find a club on campus that interests you and join up; it'll also help you gain even more confidence around others. The beginning of the semester always has a 'student fair' in which campus clubs set up tables and share what they are (and recruit new members). Try one of those groups. Usually guys in clubs are more mature because of club responsibilities. You might have better luck there.
