I find it creepily ironic that this thread popped back up, because not ten minutes ago I read a series of INSANELY homophobic Youtube comments, one of which (incidentally, the least offensive of the bunch, just so you can imagine the very vivid shade of red I was seeing) basically said that a person "chooses" to be gay by acting very girly.

Not to say that the OP is homophobic, but there's some definite correlation between the ideas. Just like everyone's been saying, sexuality is about who you're attracted to, not your personal tastes.

It's possible he is, and he's just closeted, but not because of any of the "evidence" you've given. Those things you mentioned are all just personal preferences, and I don't see that they would necessarily have any correlation with his sexual preferences. You might try just asking him, if you're wondering, but if he hasn't already told you he's gay, then it might be something he's not comfortable discussing. It's just my opinion, but I think it should be each individual's personal choice whether or not to reveal their sexual identity to others.

This question seems highly stereotypical.
Without having to repeat my fellow Eden-nites, there are many other and more important things that answer that question, the #1 thing being how that individual chooses to identify.

That's like saying my partner is gay because he likes poetry. Or someone is a lesbian because she likes rock music.

It's awfully silly and pejorative.

this is kind of a terrible generalization of the queer community when it comes to homosexual men. Just because a man presents as feminine does not make them gay; in the same way being a masculine female does not make that person a lesbian. being gay has to do with ones sexual preference, not their preference in superficial things like a favorite color, movie or TV show. Also the fallacy of "well if he likes it in the butt then he must be gay" is also another horrible/hurtful stereotype.

If answer is yes: Then yes, he is gay.


If answer is "No, but": Then no, he isn't gay. Possibly bi-sexual possibly confused... but liking Katy Perry (I do.), pink being his favorite color (you do realize pussy is pink right?? Pink is my favorite color ;-), and he likes Sex in The City... Maybe he is just someone that doesn't give the world two shits about what he likes. As far as the SITC movie.. Maybe he is an advocate for horse-faced females actresses?



In short: No, liking those 3 things doesn't make him gay. He could like all 3 of those things and even have a large collection of dildos strictly for himself... but that doesn't mean he is gay.
