Do first impressions make a difference?

Contributor: deltalima deltalima
Does it matter to you what a person does on the first date? Or do you accept their behavior as the lowest point/nervousness and have higher expectations the next time around?

Well, I wouldn't say that first impressions will typically "make or break" for me, but they do leave me with.. .well, impressions! Lol. It depends though. Unless the first impression of a person was extremely unpleasant, I wouldn't say it would affect too much what kind of relationship (friend wise, not actual romance wise) I'd have with them in the future. Sometimes friends are brought on your path in less than the most perfect ways.

That is true. I think it doesn't matter too much but I definitely remember.

I think they do, that's the first time you see the person/interact with them, if you think they're a snobby brat first time you meet what are the chances you'll want to meet again? So to me first impressions are a make it or break it thing

Yea, it definitely sets the tone. That said, I tend to be pretty relaxed about mistakes, it's being a brat that'd really turn me away

Of course it does. People see with their eyes first. Nothing wrong about it, just a fact of life.

yes they always have. Whether you are meeting someone for the first time, going on a job interview etc. First impressions are the lasting impressions.

Depends. It's usually easy to tell whether someone is nervous or a jerk. Nervousness wouldn't rule anything out and can kind of be cute. Troll-esque types, not a chance.
