How often do you celebrate anniversaries of your first date? I'm assuming that most people stop doing this once they get married, so this is for people that are still dating.
How often do you celebrate your dating anniversaries? Every month? Every 6 months?

Another question is when do you celebrate these anniversaries? If you were going to celebrate your 3 month anniversary, is it 3 months after your first date or 3 months after you're officially together?

With previous boyfriends it was one month, then 6 months, then a year. With my husband, there was no set date that we got back together, or went on an "official" date. So we're celebrating out wedding anniversary once a year.

since our anniversary is on new years eve, we end up celebrating it, even if we forget. I have never really been one for dating anniversaries, but guys I have dated in the past have. (they got mad if I forgot ) My current partner and I celebrate our engagement. hopefully this year we will be able to afford a wedding. if not, there is always next year.

Before we got married, we celebrated our dating anniversary once a year.

We don't really celebrate it at all. We probably will when we get married, though.
02/04/2011
Neither of us actually remember the day we decided to become partners, so we really don't celebrate it.

I think fond thoughts on those days, but only celebrate once a year- all my man can handle!
02/05/2011
When we were dating we celebrated the first few months and then after about a year we celebrated yearly. We got married 2 years and a day after we met so I guess you could say we celebrate the anniversary of the day we met and our wedding anniversary at the same time.
02/05/2011
I guess every month. It's not really a big celebration or anything, more of just an acknowledgement like "oh, happy __ months, by the way." It's actually kind of funny because I never thought people celebrated months of dating outside of high school and when my boyfriend first wished me a happy one month, I was so shocked that he even remembered that I didn't have the best reaction. But now, we're going on 8 months.

I kinda figured that the majority of people stopped celebrating the anniversary of their first date once they got married. Although, my parents always atleast acknowledge it still.

We always celebrate just the yearly anniversaries. Sometimes I get really annoyed with people who follow months or every 6 months after being together for over two years. However, I also have a friend that celebrate EVERYTHING.

Well, I'm married - so I didn't vote in your poll, but I want to answer anyway! My husband and me celebrate three anniversaries. The first anniversary we celebrate is the day we met - Valentine's Day.
The second anniversary we celebrate is the day we started dating. This is also the day that my husband gave me my training collar (We live a BDSM lifestyle) so it is very special to us.
We also celebrate our wedding anniversary. There's pretty obvious reasons for celebrating that, but it is also the day I got my permanent locked on collar. It is very, very special to me.
We've been married for two years, and together for nearly 8, and we still celebrate these each year. (Though admittedly, the marriage thing is only for the past two).

Once a year. We celebrate the anniversary of our first date because we've been pretty much attached at the hip since then. It's the day before Valentine's day, which most people find odd...so we have a tendency to ignore Valentine's day but I'm fine with that.

In the past it has been once per year

We celebrated our 6-month because we wouldn't be together for our real anniversary, but that was it. We won't do anniversaries until we get married.

once a year

Weirdly, even though my ex and I are officially not together, we still do a vacation for our dating anniversary and our official anniversary. His parents, they have been married for 51 years and they still go away together for their first date anniversary.

Yearly definitely. If I would have said happy three months he would have asked me what the hell I was talking about. We barely count except for by year we've been friends for so long anyway we never had official "dates". Just stopped being my best friend and started being my best friend with benefits one day definitely celebrate that day

We celebrate by saying "happy X months" every month, and then for our anniversary we make a point to hang out and have some personal time. I don't find it necessary to go out and do stuff though

We've been together for 5 years and still celebrate yearly and we still plan to when we're married. I know a lot of married people who still celebrate their anniversary. My parents still do They just went on vacation for their this month.
08/31/2011
I voted every month, but really we usually say something like "Happy -however many months we've dated-" But this month will be a year, so we'll probably only do it yearly now.

We pretty much only celebrate the years, both of when we started dating and when we were married. Some months we may mention something if it seems significant, but then again both anniversaries fall on the 21st (one in April and one in June) so that date is just special in general. For example, after we were married I was laid off from a job on the 21st of January, 7 months after our wedding. We made that day special since it was such a crappy day. I have a feeling that December 21, 2012 will be special to us as well since the world is supposed to end that day and that will be 4 1/2 years for us. Haha!
On a side note, I had a boyfriend in high school that wanted to make a huge deal out of every month we were together. It only lasted about 9 months, I really wasn't all that into him and it drove me nuts that every month was such a huge deal to him. He didn't even celebrate the right dates, he counted by weeks instead! It was the last Friday of October that we started dating, I think, so then the last Friday of every month was our "anniversary". It was bizarre.

Six months, we did.
Then afterwards, it's just yearly.
It's like two weeks after my birthday so...we may combo those.
