Cologne on Men: Love it or Hate it

Contributor: bobowaxer bobowaxer
Obviously, no one likes a scent that they find offensive or one that has been over-applied. So, let's assume that the scent in question is not outrightly objectionable to you and that it has been applied with discretion. With those caveats in mind, do you like it when a man wears cologne?

ABSOLUTELY love it!!!!!!!! I even wear mens cologne myself cause I love it so much.
The right cologne is soooooo arousing. I have followed strange men out of my way just cause they smelt sooooooo good!
My mum is rather disturbed when I do that kind of thing....hehe.

But it's not my fault they smell so devine.
If a partner wears cologne - he might want to stay away cause he won't get any peace....hehehe

I swear as soon as I smell my hubby's cologne I get hot and bothered, lol... It's definitely a turn on for me...

Sometimes it smells so darn good and other times it makes me turn the other way. I guess it just depends on the scent and the amount.

About 90% of the time I prefer a guy's natural scent over cologne. Maybe I am weird though. I know I am very picky about scents in general.

I love it, but he has to stick with one scent. My brain associates the smell with him, and if I smell it on someone else, it instantly makes me think of them. I love cologne on guys. I actually wish the boyfriend would apply more of it.

I usually like cologne on guys, as long as they do not use WAY too much.

As long as it's a scent I like and he isn't bathing in it.

I second this! My husband's Christmas gift this year was perfumed shower gel to accompany his cologne. No one else wears it. I never smell it anywhere or on anyone else, so when I do, I know he is close and it is an instant turn on for me too.

I love a nice cologne on a guy, I'm one of those girls who will just sit there and sniff my male friends all day if they have a scent I like on. Also, I really remember certain people's usual cologne scents. I have an ex I think of EVERY time I smell his cologne on the air, don't know what it is. But if I find out what it is I'm never letting my boyfriend wear it. It just makes me think of how annoying that guy was.
Also, while I love cologne, I hate most body sprays like Axe. They smell too strong, don't smell good, and get super overapplied. They do have a few really nice scents, but even those reek when someone goes nuts with it. Thank god my male friends are smart enough to realize they shouldn't douse themselves in it to smell good.

That's funny. There used to be a budget aftershave called Hai Karate with hilarious commercials involving a scented guy using Karate to "fight off" beautiful women.(actually, I checked youtube and they have a few of them) Your post reminded me of those classics, thanks.

I'm pretty allergic to artificial scents, so it's definitely not for me.

I'm allergic to most scents, so I'll probably be running the other direction if you're doused in cologne.

Take it or leave it. If a guy can find one that REALLY suits him, I love it. Otherwise, I prefer they just stay natural with the usual soap and deodorant. I associate Axe with my brother and Aspen with my dad, so those two are out for any guy I'm with.

Most straight women I know love cologne on their guys. I'm allergic to artificial fragrances, so I dislike perfume and cologne.

AXE is a great lady repellent!

Oh I LOVE cologne on men! When its a scent I like it drives me wild (in the good kind). I love when my husband has worn cologne and I have told him several times that it turns me on but he won't wear any anymore

I love it. I always tell my friends and sometimes random strangers if they smell really good. I just can't help it.

I really like cologne, in fact I actually bought some for myself (of the stuff my brother used to wear, CK1). Mmm. Too bad my partner doesn't wear cologne. Luckily I really like his deodorant.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I think every man should have one for every day use... and one for when he wants to get it on!
Then when he smells like his "sexy time" cologne, you know what hes after

It depends on the scent and how much. Like Kayla, I need him to stick to one because I tend to associate scents that people wear a lot with them, and if it's one I like, even better! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't do much with cologne, although I enjoy his natural scent quite a bit, so it's not a total loss

I buy My Man Ax body wash, (red label with black bottle) and it smells so manly. He doesn't wear cologne, so I don't really deal with that. I don't like when a man has so much on that when I shake his hand, I smell like his cologne for the rest of the day until I get to wash it off.

Years ago he used to wear something called Stetson. But, he also wore Quiana shirts, stacked heel boots and a big porn mustache. LOL!

If it's a discreet smell and he only wears a little bit, it's OK.
