I have noticed that eden has no porn selection. Do you think they should? If you answer no or other, explain why.
Should Eden sell porn?

We stopped carrying adult dvds sometime around late October/early November. It's just not an item we wish to stock any longer.
01/14/2013
I do not think so

I WISH they sold porn...I don't see why not...

Bigger variety is always better, so why not...

The porn industry is up in the air right now, you just don't hear about it. It's similar to the situation that music is in, only worse. When there was no internet the only place to get porn was on DVDs/VHS's, or to see it on the TV, but now you can get millions of gigabytes of free porn just by typing it in on Google.
On top of that, why buy porn in disk form, where you have to store it and it can be found by kids, when you can download it from a site where you bought a subscription and keep it all on a flashdrive in your pocket?
It wasn't just a 'It doesn't fit the site/we don't want to' decision by Eden, but most places are stopping the sale of porn DVDs because they just don't sell when the internet is better/more discreet/often cheaper or free.

It would appear to me to go against the Eden "philosophy" for one main reason:
While you don't want your kids on Eden, for what is sold and discussed here the environment is VERY friendly and for the most part wholesome. Sure, we are all a bunch of sexually charged individuals/couples, but there aren't pictures of pornographic acts on every page.
From a business standpoint:
Why delve into a business that isn't as profitable as it once was (not porn entirely, porn DVD sales.) Direct downloads/sites with subscriptions are the mainstream now.
A Jack (or Jill) of all trades is a master of none. Eden can provide a better sex toy/sex education atmosphere without having porn all over.
(For clarification: I love porn. I support Eden's decision to step away from carrying/selling it though)

Actually there was more to it than a "it doesn't fit the site" or some problems with the porn industry. It was a hard fought decision and one that made more sense for the company. Porn sells just fine...
01/14/2013
Nowadays, I hardly think it's worth paying money for porn, especially since there's so many free porn sites out there now.

I buy porn, but that's because I refuse to subscribe to a site and I don't really dig a lot of amateur stuff. I'm also really, really picky about it and there are studios that I outright ignore in favor of my top three.
I think online sales of pornography have taken a hit just because of the nature of the purchase. When you can compare two covers side by side in person you're more likely to take a chance on something you normally wouldn't. Online it's so much easier to just click away and hit a tube site.
Tube sites are for instant gratification. Subscription sites are for hardcore fans of one or two studios/stars.

I agree with Stormy. Also, My Man and I like to watch porn together sometimes. It's easier to do on our TV in our bed room. Also, I once downloaded a horrible virus from a "free" porn site. Shut my entire computer down and required a $250.00 repair and the guy had to take my computer for a week to fix it. I was lucky to get all my files back.
I also am not fond of amateur porn and a lot of stuff on the net, and we prefer to just put on a DVD we like and just let it play, nearly always with the sound down. I sometimes cruise by Kink.com, but My Man doesn't like this site, so it's not for us together. At least I know this site is safe, but I'm scared to cruise too many others.
I'm sorry to see Eden isn't selling it anymore. My Man and I were just talking that our collection is getting stale and it may be time to get some new stuff. I don't really want to have to go back to the place with the names of the first two people on Earth, to buy porn again. y'know?

You make a good point about being picky! I was just relaying what people who run other adult sites on the net have told me about the situation, and saying that it might have been a bigger problem than "Eh, we don't feel like it anymore." I have worked with and talked to a lot of people who tried carrying it, but they just couldn't justify it anymore with the online business.

Buying it makes sense if you have a few brands you like and don't want to subscribe, but it seems like a lot of people aren't as picky.
There's an adult shop near my Uni that, while they really didn't do well SELLING porn, they're making money RENTING it like a Blockbuster. This seems to be a good model because you don't have to pay $30 for something you don't know if you'll like, and it'll conveniently disappear from your house until you want to rent it again.
I do think that it might be nice if Eden carried a bit of 'nice' porn that they felt 'fit' the site , but it's up to them! I'm just glad that they still have Erotica on here and such.

Porn has never been an easy product to handle as a business. There are definitely ways to do it and a whole lotta ways not to do it.

I do wish they still sold porn but it's not a huge deal. I just wish I had known beforehand so I had a chance to expand my collection even more. I don't really like stuff online

I don't like manufactured porn, personally. The decision doesn't affect me until I'm reading porn reviews and get curious about it then find out Eden doesn't have it anymore.
01/18/2013
If they carried quality porn and not the random crappy crap I think it would be great!
01/19/2013
It doesn't really matter to me, plenty of free stuff to watch on the interent and I am happy with that.
01/19/2013

Sure I don't see why not. It seems relevant to the other stuff they sell.
01/19/2013
Online like everyone else said.
01/21/2013
If they choose to and think its profitable. I personally don't buy much porn and I'm here for the community, toys and lingerie.
01/22/2013
I honestly don't care. I just don't see how it would sell because, you know, you can just go to redtube or another similar site for free.
01/22/2013
I say no.
