Sex toys becoming more mainstream.

I was watching The Big C tonight and in one scene they are in, what looks like, a female centric sex toy shop. Right behind the main characters was a table with Lelo products prominently displayed! Later in the show "Cathy" brought home a Fleshlight to her husband. This is more an observation than a discussion I suppose. But I've been telling my friends about some of these amazing products for a while. I'm excited to see them getting air time!

I am too. It's amazing how far sex toys have come, and while they aren't completely mainstream yet, it's nice to see more acceptance of them.

It is nice to see them more accepted. I suspect they'll show up more on channels like Showtime and HBO before they really hit the main cable channels.

Not really sure what kind of show The Big C is, but I'm glad it is getting airtime. It might not become all that mainstream, but sex toys, I've noticed, are becoming more acceptable dinner conversation...

When I watched Lip Service there were a couple of Lelo toys there - Tess was using the Gigi in turquoise, Frankie and Cat were choosing a new vibe for her birthday and fondling the Iris and the Lily.

How awesome!
I really enjoy The Big C, so I'm going to keep a closer eye out for that scene...hehehe.

I think its fantastic, we should have less taboo regarding sex toys.

Meh, I feel like TV shows mention vibrators as a way to mention that women masturbate at all, but to suggest it *without* a vibrator would still be too taboo.

Okay, I've seen a few shows recently that had sex toys in them, and in those instances it just seemed to have been done for a laugh, to add a little shock factor. It didn't add anything to the story, so I think I prefer it now when it's not mentioned at all, as I can't think off the top of my head where it would be useful to the plot.
