Fashion Best Left Dead

In The Devil’s Dictionary, Ambrose Bierce wrote, “There is nothing new under the sun, but there are lots of old things we don’t know.” Another option? That which has gone out of fashion will for a time lie fallow, and eventually find its way back to the fore.

...just please, gods, don't let it be kelly green polyester suits.

What is the one fashion you hope never makes a comeback?

Scrunchies. Ooops...too late. American Apparel is selling them, so of course they must be cool again.

I hate things that will never go out of style tho...like white sneakers and beige suits and other shit that just looks terrible to me.

To each their own - surely something so subjective as style is always going to be a popular topic. I'll stick with jeans, band tshirts and black stuff. Kthanx.

Yup. Scrunchies are cool again. My kid's girlfriend wears them.

Which, yanno, is actually ok with me cuz they hold my hair well. Heh. Even if they look floooooofy and silly...

I'm going to go buy a pink one.

Lol, I guess not. I just can't imagine spending that much time making my hair go up!

A while back their was this meme on facebook where it took a photo of you and made it up in the fashions of centuries past. I looked scarily good in the beehive.

Cool! I've never had the patience or a reason to try it out, but I'm not sure it'd look good on me..

what about those colorful scrunchy socks that people would scrunch up and wear outside of their sweat pants?

Really shiny clothes. Low rider jeans and baby T shirts with muffin tops (flab hanging over jeans), bathing suits in public. Thongs on the beach, jeans that show okole cleavage. Overly low cut tops. tube tops, CROCS.

I never understood Crocs. They Never looked appealing to me, and aren't they rubber? Why does everyone wear them without socks?? Wouldn't that make them stink, and your feet worse?

Unfortunately, my pet peeve "yuck" in fashion has already made its comeback... bell bottoms. I hated them in the 70's, and they don't look any better to me now.

Maybe not everywhere, but we're seeing them crop up amongst the 20's and 30's crowd (females) along the east coast. The only difference is, they're now worn lower on the waist. I'm hoping it's a passing fad either way (lol).

Do you mean flares? Cause they're distinctly different.

Oh, but on the topic of pants: straight leg jeans on women.

Me too! I'm short-waisted enough that the "moderm" low rise actually sits close to my waist instead of down on the hips, and the flare evens our my body shape a bit.

I know these haven't disappeared yet, but I wish they would (and never make a comeback)
Skinny jeans. On anyone. They make me cringe.
Leggings without a shirt/tunic/dress long enough to cover the important bits. We don't want to see those outlined. Please.

Shirts long enough to be dresses. Ugh.

Nope, these are good 'ole gag-me bell bottoms. Flares are much smaller and a lot better proportioned, so they actually look good on most people.

LOL! I actually wear a Scrunchie from time to time, simply because they make great cock & ball rings for those impromptu blowjobs when you're out and manage to drag your man off somewhere odd (like the storage room at work). Alan grins when he sees me wearing one, because he knows he's got a fairly good chance of me vamping him somewhere.
Did I just say that? Nooo... what I meant is that, oh yeah I love the way they hold my hair back. That's all, really (lol!).

I like the beehive hairstyle. But I guess when you see someone with one nowadays, it's so out of place that is kind of weird.
