If you found out a local politician was a reviewer here, would you be more likely to support them, less likely, or unchanged?

I don't think it would change my opinion. By default I would generally think the type of person that participated on a site such as this would be more liberal about issues regarding women's health, general healthcare, etc, and those ideas would make me more likely to vote for the candidate. Participation in this venue alone would not change my opinion though.

I've been wondering when online accounts will become part of opposition research in campaigns. I have a feeling it's one thing to make a sexist meme, another to be a reviewer of sex toys (think of the children :O) but what do you think?
I hope that doesn't happen though as I also have a high-profile job and wouldn't want that to interfere. Overall, I wouldn't care.

More! It would be great to have a politician who was open about his/her sexuality rather than hiding or lying about it like happens so often.

haven't we learned in recent years that a sexually satisfied politician makes for a happier government?

It definitely depends on their stances on many policies before I even remotely consider supporting anyone in the political sphere. If they were on this site then it might mean they are more likely to be sex positive and open minded but that seems like a generalization. If I already knew about their positions on the issues and liked them then knowing they had an account here would make me support them even more. If I didn't like any or most of their positions on the issues then it would slightly increase my respect for them but really not change my view. There will be those from every corner of the political sphere almost everywhere, so just because I have a thing in common with them does not ultimately sway if I follow them.

I might have some more respect for them.

I voted for "more," but I should ideally say "no change." It depends on who they are and what they believe in. If I support their political views, though, I probably would be more inclined to vote for someone who is so sex-positive, only because that is a quality I like in people and would like to see more of in the government.

Though their views and positions on sex toy reviews would be revered, it would not change how I view their views and positions on policies/laws/etc.

It depends.

If the politician is one of those put on a good front holier than thou (and I am pretty gosh darn holy let me tell you!!!!), preaching about how sex is bad, they basically go against what it means to be sex positive... then yes. I would be less likely to support them.

But on the other hand, if they acted like what a modern day human being should act like, then I'd probably just shrug, pass on my way to go to them, and carry on with my day.

But then again I live in a country where being gay was once a mental illness and the man who put that forth to the people was bonefide little boy bum lover. And most politicians openly have second and third mistresses and a wife. Wait. Never mind!!! There is no voting!!! What am I talking about!!

I don't think it'd sway me, unless they were a hypocrite, saying one thing on this site, and then total opposite in the public.

I would like to say no change but I'm really not sure. If they did get discovered on here then they probably aren't a very good Politician any way

I don't understand the question.

I honestly don't think any politician of any kind is going to be able to take the time to review sex toys and even if he or she does... well, I can't see any, local, state or federal, bothering with it.

What would it gain them? And to be sure, politicians usually only do things that gain them something.

Not to mention it would be political suicide. There are certain things one just doesn't do when running for or being in office.

But, I don't understand the rest of it, "Sexist memes?" "Online opposition research?" I'm confused about what this means.

As for MY vote? If I wasn't going to vote for the person, simply finding out they review sex toys wouldn't change my mind about them. It doesn't automatically mean someone has the same political ideals that I do.

There are a number of politically conservative people on this site. I don't think simply liking sex toys is exclusively the venue of the Far Left.

We're all human and if our mayor (for example) was a reviewer here, more power to them! We all enjoy free and reduced price sex toys, why not let the politicians enjoy it too?

It would absolutely change my opinion. A sex-positive politician! How often does that happen?

However, it may not change my decision to vote for them. Depends where they stand on other things that's important to me.

I don't think it would change my opinion of them. I'd view them differently, in a positive light, but in the end I don't think sex toys have anything to do with politics.

I'd be more likely to vote for them because I live in a repressed, backwards, bright red county in the middle of Indiana, and I'd love to have the chance to vote for someone who was sex positive for a change

I'd give them props for having the balls/ovaries, but it wouldn't matter. When it truly doesn't matter (when people can be sexual beings and it's all okay), then that's truly a win.

I really wouldn't be concerned either way. If the politician was ok, I'd vote for them, otherwise no. It would be nice to have an openly sex-positive representative though.
