I took one as I have to go into many facilities that always have the flu. I've taken it for the past several years and luckily, I've not had the flu. There is always the chance that even with the shot you will get the flu as there are several strands that produce symptoms and the shot can't cover them all. I like to think that I have at least done what I can to reduce my chances.
Did you get a flu shot this year?

Not safe and not effective.

i hvaent

I got it because I was recovering from surgery and couldn't really risk getting sick while healing
01/28/2013
Yes, I did. I don't really know how much stock I put into it, though.
01/30/2013
Never have, never will. I take care of my body and haven't even had a cold in years.
01/30/2013
Nope. Although, I think I should have.
01/30/2013
I've never had a flu shot before, but I have known people that still got the flu even after a shot. I think I'll just take my chances, besides I haven't been sick in quite awhile.
01/30/2013
I didn't. I admit it was mostly laziness! I woke up one morning and it was christmas....hmm.
I don't think it's absolutely necessary. I'm not in a group that is particularly at risk (being young and generally healthy), so the risk of having the flu is negotiable. I mean, if I got it I would feel crappy for a bit but recover!

Almost anyone I know who has ever gotten a flu shot has gotten extremely ill shortly afterwards. Doesn't seem worth it to me.
02/01/2013
Not
02/01/2013
No I never do!
02/01/2013
I get 1 every year unless the run out.
02/01/2013
Yes. I haven't gotten to the flu but several close friends have.
02/01/2013
After not getting one for three years or so, I got one this year. I get sick easily.

I have never been a strong supporter of flu shots, because I find them to do more harm than good. Since they can't vaccinate for every strand of the flu, they predict which ones will be the most popular. If there's another kind of flu out there (and there are lots), you don't have any protection against it anyways. In addition, (though this is something that my mother knows far more about than I) vaccines for something like the flu are quite helpful in causing bacteria to mutate and become more resistant. Nooooo thank you.

No. There are tons of different strains out there. I think it's kind of pointless.
02/17/2013
I did not. Mainly because I'm lazy.

No, I skipped it and didn't get sick at all.
02/19/2013
I haven't.
02/19/2013
I probably would if I had reliable health insurance, but that is sadly not the case for me.
02/19/2013
Every year. It's hilarious that people are more afraid of the shot than the flu. I love shots...the more shots the better!

Nah. I might need one before I move, though. The little sister of my fiancee is a liver transplant- have to be careful.

02/19/2013
No, I didn't. Honestly, I just forgot all about it.
02/19/2013
Got one and still got the flu. But that's the first time in over 15 years that I've gotten a flu shot and gotten sick.

Hi Kendra, just thought I would mention a great source for raw honey is TropicalTraditions.com . You might also be able to find raw honey locally, but this one (from Tropical Traditions) is THE most delicious honey I have ever had. It's kind of expensive normally but sometimes they have it on sale for 50% off, making it no more expensive than the local ones.

No, but I started getting one when we had an infant living here, but now she's older and I know the truth about vaccines, so no, I totally refused it. Guess what? My dad, my mom, my neice, my sister & my grandmother all had the flu from Christmas week up until last Sunday! My dad's just went away last Sunday and I've been around them all very, very much. I prepared myself this year as I did have the flu once and it was 2 Christmas' ago (misery!) so as soon as the first person in my family got it (my 3 year old neice) I began taking garlic cloves. I just chop one clove in half and swallow like a pill since it's easier for me than putting it in food. I done that about twice a week and also got some Kefir, took a little wheatgrass and chia seed as well as multi-vitamin daily and here we are. Neither I nor my partner got it! We both did the same garlic and kefir and wheatgrass and vitamin diet. I had been on the hunt for some raw, real honey since there's an ingredient in it that actually kills the influenza germ, but could not find anyone selling in my area.
I highly recommend doing some research into how you can truly prevent the flu with all natural methods (I know I sound like a whack job.) I would have never believed it until I tried myself! Not only does it prevent the flu, you gain life changing health benefits from these things. Okay, whack job, I know I know, but it's worth taking a look into.
Why no flu shot for me anymore? Because of how dangerous it is. You know where I'm going with this... lOl. less
