I don't like how such a problematic relationship has been glamorized. I work with adolescents and I think its sending them the wrong kind of messages about what they should expect romanitc relationships to be like.

I enjoyed the Twilight saga, but as Billie said, I don't find the glamorization of Bella and Edward's unhealthy relationship to be at all amusing. What kind of example are all of these teenage vampire novels setting for teenage girls? I read the first two chapters of Vampire Diaries by LJ Smith and couldn't read anymore due to the fact that the girl Elena specifically states that there's nothing more important than boys...
With that said, I liked the Twilight saga because of Carlisle and Jasper's backstory. The addition of Peter Facinelli and Jackson Rathbone wasn't bad either.

This should be asked in the Social. You'll get a lot more Nos there.

It's okay, I don't have anything against it, but I just don't watch it as my "go to" series. I do love Robert though, but I loved him in Harry Potter before he was in this saga, so he will ALWAYS be Cedric to me

Have you seen the show The Vampire Diaries? I haven't (and probably won't) read the books, but in the show Elena's character is mostly likeable; she stands up for herself even though she's dealing with vampires, and I don't recall her saying "there's nothing more important than boys". It's a really awesome show and I can't wait for Season 3 to come out on DVD in September...

I think the movies are horrible. But the books were a fun read.
