What is your favorite 'sex music'?

Contributor: Dame Demi Dame Demi
Oggins' latest review got me to wondering--what type of music does it for everyone out there when it comes time for sex? Specific song lists would be great! To get the ball rolling, mine are:

1. "Closer" by Nine Inch Nails
2. "Voodoo" by Godsmack
3. "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor" by Drowning Pool
4. "Dragula" by Rob Zombie
5. "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath

The really funny part is I'm a huge Broadway music fan in non-sexual situations.

Reggae and Dub are at the top of my list, most anything with a good throbbing bass line. I also like a lot of rock and blues, not really anything as "dark" as you Dame Dem, I like to listen to a ton of different types of music but there are only cerain things I like for the groove thang.

Zombie does do some pretty sexy stuff as well as NIN. We never really listen to music during sex so mostly I listen to music and feel sexy. Heh

sometimes we don't have any music playing and sometimes if we are in the mood for some romantic lovin it is usually something soft or a variety of love songs.... but when we are in the mood for some seriously wild sex.... most anything with lots of bass. then other times we just make our own music.... after all who doesn't like that song.... a variation of soft to loud moans, bodies grinding, sweat dripping....skin slapping.... you know that song don't you?.....

Hmm, it really depends on my mood and what kind of sex I'm wanting. Closer by NIN is always good though as well as anything that muffles the moans! =)

Us too - mostly we hear ourselves or it's porn in the background that's got us at it in the first place.

I do love Dragula and Closer though - I work out to them!

NIN & MSI. Odd combination, I know. We usually just have the fan going (I sleep with it.... )

Rock. Bon Jovi is fun. Rhianna. Anything that I can dance to... Club music. Stuff with explicit lyrics. I'd have to go through my playlists (and my head hurts right now...)

I have a whole list, but first I gotta ask this: where's the love for Prince and Marvin Gaye?! They practically invented sexy music!

My partner likes to put on The Spill Canvas during sex. I like it during foreplay, but I find music during sex to be distracting...I'm a little ADD I guess.

Oh, God, Prince is one of my all time FAVORITES!!! My husband hates him, though, so that poses problems. "When Doves Cry" never fails to make me wet, and he has a lesser-known song called "G-Spot" that has one of the best base grooves ever, in addition to the subject matter. Besides, how can you not love a man with song called "Head"?

Its hard to say. It really depends on the mood. If we're looking for something, soft and romantic, the Japanese artist Kokia is one thats popular. However when its more heated, passionate, and fast paced, various rock and some metal. The first time me and my boyfriend made love...well... it all started with us cuddling on his bed, we just started the third Resident Evil movie, and not even 15 minutes into the movie everything became a blur. The music was resinating in my mind, but all i remember was the heat of his body against mine, when we finished, the credits were playing. We both started laughing, and decided to try the movie again, we hate some pizza and afterwards it became a blur again, the music still hard in my head between panting, moaning, and final release. So yea, really depends on the mood O

"John the Baptist", by The Afghan Whigs. It sounds like sex translated to music: "I got the devil in me, girl...mmm hmmm"

Tom Waits' Bone Machine. The rhythms are amazing.

Anything from The Gathering's records with Anneke Van Giersbergen. Trippy, heavy, melodic...it just sounds really fluid and sexual.

Prince. Especially his stuff from the 70s through late 80s.

Metal Machine Music, by Lou Reed. Possibly the first 'industrial' record. It's pure guitar feedback. Explosive, abrasive, surreal, grotesque, but strangely beautiful and hot.

The Idiot and Lust for Life, by Iggy Pop. It's rough 'n raw; and who wouldn't want to get off to "The Passenger"?

Marvin Gaye, Melissa Etheridge, Danzig

Joan Jett gets me out of my clothes every time, oddly enough.

That's funny, Danzig for me too
and lately...

Clam Fight - a local band that I love. Heavy stoner doom metal...epic and awesome.

Black Sabbath - duh, seriously...no explanation needed.

Scores to movies - namely we used Nightmare on Elm Street a few times. Just tellin the truth, man.

Madonna - believe it or not, it was his choice that time!

Southern Rock playlists, Metal that happens to be on, whatever...sometimes silence...sometimes the drone of whatever DVD we planned on watching and forgot about - it just depends.

Danzig is serious perfection to me when we go from flogging into fucking. The beat is irresistible for both. Yum.

And along the Black Sabbath, old hard rock route... AC/DC.

I do, however, believe I"m aging myself. Lol

I like to make love at times... and for those times, here are my "jams"...

Chris DeBurgh - Lady in Red

Bob Dylan- Sara

Police- King of Pain

Dont Stop- Brazilian Girls

Seventeen- Ladytron

MMM, MMM, MMM - Crash Test Dummies

Breaking Benjamin- Rain

Deb Talan- Forgiven

The Vitamin String Quartet's covers of- Sunday, Bloody Sunday ... Yellow... Minerva... With or Without you (absolutely beautiful)

Maxwell- This Womans Work

Limp Bizkit- Behind Blue Eyes

Audioslave- I am the Highway

NIN- The Great Below

Dave Matthews Band- Crash Into Me

Desiree- Kissing You

Sting- Fields of Gold

Incubus- Aqueous Transmission (when they recorded there were hundreds of frogs that wouldn't STFU so the end result is something beautiful that you'd want to practice your yoga to)

Our Lady Peace- Innocent

Stevie Nicks- Landslide (the live version)

Sarah Mclachlan- Ice Cream

Jenny Owens Young- Fuck Was I (gorgeous cello)

Snow Patrol- Run

Sheryl Crow- Wildflower

Khaled- Aicha

Peter Gabriel- Book of Love *I fell in love with this the first time I ever heard it*

James Taylor- Something in the Way She Moves

When we're through with being mellow.. Rush, Alice in Chains, Slayer, Deftones, Collective Soul, Ozzy, NIN, Beastie Boys are great.. and who has never heard "FUCK THE PAIN AWAY" by Peaches needs to now or "TWO GIRLS" by Paranoid Social Club (they're from my home state and the chillest guys you could ever meet)...

I did once date a guy and we had sexual encounters in his car while listening to heavy metal. It was so dirty and erotic, I loved it.
With my current partner we don't really play music and if we do it usually is random music from my playlist which includes popular radio music, metal, hip hop, alternative, jazz, and what have you.
Maybe I should get my old cd's out and have crazy dirt sex while listen to metal

Having sex to metal rules! Last summer, it seemed like every time we were about to go to bed this heavy metal video program 'Metal Mania' would be on and we'd wind up fucking around with it playing in the background.

One funny anecdote was us stopping to watch a Dio video because we were like "whoa, I haven't heard this song in ten years!" hee hee. Ridiculous.

Anyway, I recommend classic 80's metal or some old school thrash!

I love music & listen to it almost every waking minute - except during sex. I have before and I'm sure I will again, but right now it's too distracting. I want to hear my partner's sounds... and the sex sounds themselves.
