A warm hello to you all!
We just wanted to pop in and introduce ourselves. Apollo and I are a happy M/F couple, both 36 years old, both excited about trying to help others here on Eden. We're fairly adventurous with our sexual exploration and enjoyment, of each other and independently, thus we try a wide variety of products to go with our sexcapades. We have a dear, trusted friend we more than occasionally bring in as well, whom we both love to bits. We're basically a triad at this point. We're also generally very open and comfortable sharing what we've experienced with anyone who genuinely wants to know.
We ended our long relationship with our prior favored online adult toy store, after quality of in house products seemingly declined, as did their selection; then their customer service department became a nightmare to try to resolve anything with. We were intrigued by Eden Fantasys not only for the wide and varied selection of products - and more than fair pricing -!but also because there seemed to be an emphasis on healthy, sex/sexuality-positive community where interests, questions and suggestions could be expressed freely. That really resonated with us!
We hope to begin with our product reviews soon, but want to make sure we give everything we ordered a thorough go! Some things we consider when thinking about toys are:
- Price Versus Function Versus Quality: We're not expecting a normally $20 toy to compete with a $100 toy, but are pleasantly surprised when they do, and equally disappointed if a luxury toy seems to lack in performance or quality. If you're gonna charge an arm and a leg for something, it had better show up to work! We're on a tight budget and we want to get the most out of the small amounts of "fun" money we set aside.
- Ease of Use, meaning some of the following: Are the controls easily navigated when the toy is in use; are the controls in some way raised or marked in a tactile manner to make them identifiable and navigable without being able to see them; are the controls intuitive to the functions it performs; do features such as suction cups function as intended;
- Ergonomics: are the toys easy to hold onto for both solo and/or couple's play (we like long sessions and edging when we have the time, hand and/or wrist fatigue are not cute for that!); are they gripped with reasonable ease with slippery hands; could someone with arthritis in their hands and/or fingers use/hold onto the toy for a reasonable period of time (a consideration for a close friend of ours,) does the natural grip point(s) on the toy interfere with it's controls (inadvertently switching settings just trying to hold onto the toy is a real bummer!)
Bonus stuff:
Can it be used in more than one way to good effect? Apollo and I share toys a lot. Things that work for both of us are a huge plus! I mean, a dildo, whether it vibrates or not, is likely pretty universal. But finding a special toy we both love with unique features is like finding a treasure!
If it is supposed to be realistic, is it? Does it feel and look natural (as can be expected for the material,) both on its own but also in use? Sometimes things feel nice to touch but have no give (or too much) while in play, or similar issues.
What kind of packaging does the product arrive in, and does it protect it in a sufficient manner? Does the packaging suit the price point, or is it too little for what you pay? Does it come with instructions, and are they easy to understand?
Is it easy to clean? How long does it take to charge, if applicable, and how long does it hold a charge? Are there any noticable details, such as lights, and do they function the way it says they should? If it has some sort of special "gimmick" to it, is it worthwhile in practical use?
It will change some with toy type, what it's for, and so on, but we hope to be thorough while staying easy to read. We offer two separate perspectives and will do our best to be as concise as possible. This post has been a bit long, so thanks for staying with us thus far!
Also, if anyone knows of another community like Eden's Forum, that is very active and engaging, we would thoroughly appreciate your recommendations! This is our first foray into an online sexual health and well-being community and we really want to connect with people who share our enthusiasm for it!
Anywho, we hope to get to know you and that you'll enjoy having us here. You can view our profile for more specific info, or feel free to send us messages if you like
