She's so cute! I tend to name pets after book characters, musicians, etc. My current pet, a fancy rat, is named Bowie because the pattern on her face makes her look like the cover of the David Bowie album Aladdin Sane. I'll come back later if I can think of anything for your new doggie!!!
My dog's name is Voldemort - he was born to an inbred mother (Maltese puppy mill), he looked like a white slug, and he wasn't supposed to be born (we think his parents got together while we were distracted with the 2004 hurricanes). And he survived something that should have killed him (eating dark chocolate).
He's a healthy six-year-old 3/4-Maltese&1/4-Po odle . Although he's a little furry in this photo from when he was four-years-old.

This is a good idea too! I am leaning towards the name Rooney, which is one of my favorite bands. I'm worried that it's too masculine, though...Any thoughts?
I just realized I didn't talk about my other pets' names!
I currently have a dachshund mix named Milo. I also have two snakes named Jinx and Nellie. My parents have two black labs named Dakota and Bo, a sun conure named Tango, and two cockatiels named Cinnamon and Spice. I used to have turtles named Turtle, Hercules, and Moss and mice named Daisy, Rose, Rusty, Sarah, and Todd.
we got a female black lab for xmas. we couldn't decide b/w Lucy or Sadie. then "lucy in the sky w/ diamonds" by the beetles came on the radio. So, we named her Lucy. we also have 2 cats named Mocha & Wilson.
Ooh, Sapphire Storm, I like Sassy That's adorable.
Speaking of fish names...I also used to have a goldfish named Godzilla. R.I.P.
And what's the deal with Fro-Yo and Wife Swap? Someone fill me in
Porn club reviewed the Wife Swap parody months ago and one of the characters, in a scene a lot of the members even found a little offensive, introduced himself as 'fro-yo'. It was super cheesy, but highly memorable.
And I like the idea of naming pets to the opposite of thier perceived personality - like naming snakes Fluffy or naming tiny fluffy dogs things like Jaws. I actually had a super teensy runt of a rat with great big sweet eyes I named Killer. So maybe something along those lines since she looks so sweet??

What kinds of pets do you have and what are their names? If they have a fun story explaining why you named them that, please share!

She is so cute
We have had four cats of our own( tho have rescued and fostered may more than that)
A white cat named Baby but originally his name was supposed to be basket since that is where he stayed for the first few weeks but everyone kept calling him baby cat and he decided he liked Baby better.
A male gray tabby named Floppo because he was to lazy to do anything so he just flopped over when he got tired.
A black and white tuxedo cat named teapot (we did not name him)
And a tiger tabby named Jewel because she was a stray like our others and she used to climb in my kitchen window at night before we took her in and when it was all dark her green eyes shined liked jewels in the moonlight.
We have always with our own or while doing rescue work always named the animals based on their appearance or their personality sometimes it took a bit to figure out but we wanted it to be unique/special to them because they are all special in their own way
She looks like a Cinderella(Cindy) with her front paws(shoes) and the being rescued lol I like the above suggestion of Sassy to. You will figure out her name when you hear it.
My kitty's name is Sassy. Not too original, but she was already a year old when I got her, and she was already used to it. I call her by dozens of nicknames, including (but not limited to): Sassycakes, Cake, Sassafras, Sass-Master, Sassybaskets, Carpet Shark, Fuzzball, Fuzzy, and Kiddo.
I have two lab mix pups, Zoe and Ginger, and one Min Pin named Little Bits. Ginger (named by my wife) is a color similar to powdered ginger, Little Bits was named by my kids cuz he only 'goes' a little bit. Zoe (named by me) was named for her puppy antics, she would bounce like a doe deer all over the yard. My first choice for a name was Doe, but it sounded to much like "NO" so I figured that would not work very well. Zoe was pretty close so I went with that.
I always try to watch the dog for a couple of day, most of the time a name will pop into my head that fits their personality.
I've always been a big fan of naming a dog "Stay," so your guests would think you were messing with your dog when you told him "come here, Stay!"... nobody's ever taken me up on that yet.
I have two cats and a fish. The black cat is named Pooky, the black and white is named Snot, and the fish is Squishy. I don't know why I named the one Pooky, I just started calling him that. Same thing with the fish. Snot is named because he's pretty snotty. I don't have any pictures of them on this computer, unfortunately.
I have way too many animals to list all their names and why they got them. Several of my critters are named after characters from books, a few are named after gods, goddesses and other mythological/historica l beings. A few are named after their distinguished characteristics. One of my donkeys is named after my favorite dancer from SYTYCD, and one of cats is named after a hockey player(I just thought the name was cool).
Good luck with your new dog. She is very cute. You might consider the name "Coco". For some reason her sleek black "suit" and her little white "gloves" make me think of Coco Chanel.
AW! I LOVE ALL THE PICS OF THE BEAUTIES HERE Wish I knew how to post mine! Anyways, I always have to wait until I've learned the pet's personality and really gotten to know them before I find a name that fits. We recently got a hamster who I was babysitting for my twin sis and ended up falling in love. Named him Hubert. Then the 4th of July my mom rescued a baby kitten who drives me insane, but very sweet. She's yet to find a name that fits. We just have to get to know them first. Lol.
I really think your dog looks like a Lily to me though. As soon as I saw the pic I thought, yep she's a Lily! Lol. Looks like it'd fit her. I have only 1 dog and he's a weiner dog named Pookie. It was actually spook because my dad said he was "spooked" over everything when he first was dumped out there. Then we started calling him pookie. Then I have 2 cats one's a huge, beautiful red/orange cat named Fuzz. She's the funniest thing in the world. Then there's the calico, Patsie.
You could even look up baby names to find one that seems to work. Just gather a few you like and start using them to call her until you find one that really sticks. That's how we did with my Hubert Hamster. I had a hard time finding his and one day I looked at him and said "Hubert!" & That was it. Lol.
Amelia is another name that seems like it'd fit your baby. I like it, but you might not. She's very cute though!
The first name I thought was "Kipper" but she's not a he so that doesn't work.
I actually know a boy who's name is Kipper! Lol. It's his actual birth name too, not a nick name. I have never heard that name anywhere else besides him and then when you mentioned it. I guess it could be used for a boy's name, maybe?

I'd avoid naming cats after gods and goddesses...they get egos!

I really like Amelia and Lily! Unfortunately...I have two cousins and one friend who just had babies. Guess what they named their kids? One Amelia, one Lily, and one baby boy, Mason! Mason was a name I had picked if I got a boy dog! Darn them! LOL
