Your pets and their names

We're thinking about getting a new dog. Most people I know have a story behind their pet's name. It's sometimes a regional thing, funny name, inside joke, their coloring, celebrity, etc.) What's your pet's name, and what was the inspiration behind it?

Our spoiled little dog's name is King Ceaser Britton (full name, we tend to just call him Ceaser or K.C for short though).

He was the runt in a two pup litter and his sister (who was, no joke, twice his size) used to bully him. At first we thought it was just...y'know, puppies being puppies, but it got to the point where she would get sort of overenthusiastic and bite him hard enough to make him cry.
So when we were coming up with names for him we were just shooting names back and forth between us (my mother and I), I said "Ceaser" and she liked it so she added the "King" part and our last name since he's part of the family.

We figured maybe giving him a sort of "tough guy" name might help his self-confidence and he'd start standing up to his sister. (We called her Panda because of the marking around her belly&back.)

We have three cats, named Popple, Snapple, and O..... I thought Popple was just a cute name reminiscent of my childhood, and Snapple sort of matched it in weird loosely-associated-wit h-Rice-Krispies kind of deal....I wanted to get one and name it Krackle, but hubby said two cats was the limit....and then one day at my gramma's house, her idiot dog wouldn't stop barking at the door, so I was like wtf and I opened the door and was like, "Oh, it's a kitten." What choice did my husband have when presented with the love of his life crying over a tiny ball of black and white fur because her papa says he'll kill it if we don't take it home? I named him O because he's was the sweetest little surprise I could ask for

Voldemort - Maltese-poodle who should not have been born, his mommy was inbred, he looked like a white slug the first week of his life, and he's been plotting ways to kill off my mother (usually by trying to trip her). He also shoots Cute Rays, so he's Evil. My Harry Potter fandom friends break into hysterical laughter when I say "Voldemort plots his next piddle."

Aphra - the last cat I had (whom my ex-husband got in the divorce). She was a calico-maine coon mix and had a habit of laying across my laptop keyboard as a kitten. Being as how I was looking through a book of author biographies, the name Aphra Behn struck me so the cat ended up with the name. (She's a political essayist and smut writer of the 18th century.)
