I was 16 and very reluctant to get it. My parents forced me to get my license. I hated driving then and I still do today. My partner drives most of the time.

I got my first permit at 17 and let it expire. Got another permit at 18 and it, too expired. Then I got one at age 20 and my then-boyfriend (now husband) forced me to take my test before it expired =)

I got my permit at 16 and let it expire, I didn't like driving. I'm almost 23 now and I still don't have my licence, but my partner drives and I have no problem with public transport.

I got my permit at 18 and my license at 19. I was unable to before because the group home would not allow me to get it for the worlds most stupidest reason; Because I wasn't on a high level as the other girls were. I just moved there...

I had my permit at 15, but barely drove. Then I turned 16, passed my test and my parents gave me the keys to my car and basically said have fun, don't cross out of the two counties we lived next too.

I had gotten my first permit when I was 18 or 19 but it expired. I got my second permit and still have that. Right now it wouldn't be cost effective for us for me to get my license and get my own car or be put on the insurance, etc. so I only drive whenever he's not at work and can be in the car with me.

21 an in the state I live in if you are 18 you go straight for your Driver's License without a permit
