Handwritten? I've never recieved any. Anything that came for me was either bills or people trying to get me to get credit cards to create more junk.

I got a parcel at Christmas which had a hand-written note in it, but other than that I haven't had an actual letter in years! I had a few foreign pen pals when I was in high school to help improve my French.

A million years ago I participated in PostCrossing, so I would get lots of handwritten postcards from all over the world.
It's been a long time since I've gotten anything in the mail that wasn't a bill (or a sex toy) though!

I was grounded for an entire summer one year and me and my best friend would send each other letters in the mail. That was about 14 years ago or so.

I get handwritten cards and letters from my elderly relatives on a fairly regular basis (once a month or so). I usually respond with a handwritten card or letter of my own.

I used to send love letters to my wife when we were hundreds of miles apart. And I DID have a pen pal when I was in elementary school; a girl in France.

This is one of those cases where I don't feel bad at all about being older than most of the people on here. It does make me feel sorry for those who haven't sent or received a real letter, though.

I got a handwritten letter today to express sympathy for my FIL's passing. I don't get them very often.

Not sure the last time I sent a letter. It's been a while.

Some of my older family members and I still regularly send cards and sometimes we "drop a few lines" in them.

We mainly use letters for our family members in jail. Wow, that sounds bad. Yeah, but other than that probably a few years ago.

I also have penpals in junior high.

I write to friends at Christmas, and get letters in return. I also write to my Mom a lot - she's big on handwritten letters, and since she doesn't have a computer, it's either that or the phone (we do the phone more often).
