I had birds once. They are SO messy! I would never own another bird, no matter how pretty it may be.

I'd say macaw because I know the nesting habits of the toucan is to make a hole in a tree and seal the female inside while the male feeds her. (or was it the other way around?) I wouldn't want something to trigger that nesting instinct and have one get stuck inside my wall.

Macaws are pretty smart, too.

I don't like birds very much, but I do like how macaws look. I wouldn't want to be around one for more than a few minutes though
