Would you put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari?

So, I think I understand what the author is trying to say here in this article. Tattoos without meaning are usually pointless. I get that. I say it all the time, despite having no reason for a few of my own other than I liked the way they looked. But I still come away from this article feeling as though it's saying I'm somehow wrong for being tattooed, and that by having a tattoo I've not only vandalized my body, but I have also removed any possibility for me to have any class. Frankly, I'd like to call bullshit on that. I can be a classy lady. With tattoos. Even with a pink mohawk. Ok, well maybe not as much on the mohawk. But still. I have seen a lot of very unclassy tattoos. But I have also seen a lot that don't detract from a person's classiness, at least to me. I know that a lot people don't share my opinion.

But what do you guys think of this article? Do you share the author's sentiments? Am I just crazy and missing a different message?

I kinda wanna punch the author in her(?) smug, ugly mug... To be honest. It's not the equivalent of a bumper sticker on a Ferrari, it's the equivalent of a custom paint job on a Ferrari, or painting the ceiling of a beautiful chapel, since she's calling the body a temple. Tattoos are art, not trash. You don't leave a mansion without art, why should you leave a body without it?

Although I won't argue that "Mass produced" tattoos are trashy. Each tattoo should be an individual work of art.

I'm getting the same message. The only people I've heard say tattoos are not classy..are the ones without the tattoos. To me, she seems like the kind of person who is extremely unhappy, but is trying to convince herself she's not. I know some very UNclassy people who don't have tattoos, and vice versa. And I don't know about you guys, but I would say that dressing in high heels, putting on great clothes, makeup etc, is no different than getting a tattoo. It's all to make yourself look and feel better....she just rubbed me the wrong way.
