If you were in the store and saw some 14-16 year old kid bebopin his way through and trip over his shoelace, would you overtly laugh? Keep in mind the kid wouldn't be hurt just embarassed, you would however be laughing within audible distance from him and not help with the embarassment...
Would you laugh?

I have laughed over someone tripping in public! I ALWAYS do & usually louldy. Lol. It helps them usually to be less embarrassed. I am less embarrassed when someone laughs after I fall. I just laugh myself. I think it's the funniest when it's a kid!

I can't say I wouldn't laugh, because I probably would. However I would try to be polite and save him any further embarrassment.
Now depending on the situation I might ask to make sure he was ok, but if it was some ignorant little asshole texting on his daddy's phone I'd probably point and hope he cried. Just for the record I didn't vote for the last two, but I should have.
*evil laughter*

I probably sound like an old lady, but my first instinct would be to ask if he was ok.
Even if it was someone I truly detested, I might mutter "had it coming" under my breath, but I still wouldn't laugh.

I'm with Petite Valentine. I'm one of those people who's overly sensitive of others' feelings and so I definitely wouldn't laugh. But maybe if he fell into a display and a whole bunch of (harmless) items came raining down on his head.. I guess I just need my slapstick to be slightly more complex than a simple shoelace trip, hah

Definitely wouldn't laugh, people trip all the time especially where I live because there's so many people in such a small space. It's pretty common and it's just frustrating when it happens, especially if you're in a hurry.

I try to ignore that kind of stuff, but I usually end up laughing just a little anyway. Then I go home, tell someone else what I saw, and crack up! lol
05/11/2011
yes maybe
05/11/2011
Yes!
05/11/2011
I'm sure I'd laugh and ask him if he was OK. I laugh at people falling all the time, including myself. I think I laugh hardest when I'm the one who has fallen. lol
05/11/2011
I just can't control myself. LOL.
05/11/2011
I'd try to ignore to save him the embarassment.

I would almost certainly laugh. And point.
05/11/2011
You always need to laugh
05/11/2011
yes
05/11/2011
probably would
05/11/2011
I would try not to, but honestly probably would not be able to control it.

Depends on the situation. If he has his pants around his knees and both shoes untied while texting on a phone and listening to his ipod, hell ya I would laugh. Now if he just happened to have a lace come undone, then no. I would ask if he was alright and help him up.

Sadly I would probably giggle

I'd probably laugh as long as I was sure he was okay and then say something like, "It happens to the best of us!" to make him feel better.
05/11/2011
I think other people falling is so funny - probably because I am such a klutz who falls all the time - so it's nice when it's not me on the ground!
05/11/2011
I probably wouldn't be able to keep from laughing.

I would try to ignore it and save him from embarrassment, but I'd probably end up laughing as long as he wasn't hurt.

I laugh if it is funny and no one is hurt. I even laugh when I do something stupid. Life is too short not to laugh.
05/12/2011
I wouldn't be able to help myself - the laugh would slip out before I realised.
05/12/2011
Oh no, I don't remember ever laughing like that.
05/13/2011
I dont think I would laugh... Im a pretty clumsy person and would hate for ppl to laugh at me.

Last night we are at a concert and some lady's children were RUNNING full speed up and down the stairs and the aisles paying no attention to all the people filing in. My husband was getting pissed that someone would let their kids act like this at the symphony. I leaned over and said, "you might have to restrain my laughter when one trips on their flip flops and eats it." That is exactly what happened. She was watching her feet as she was running full speed in the dimly lit auditorium and ran smack into an old man, fell backward and tumbled down a few steps. She was just fine, but continued running as soon as she brushed herself off.
I did laugh out loud and the people in front of us did too. I wanted to kick the parents butt though.
