I have noticed some nice Groupons for eateries I some friends frequent regularly. I know merchants tend to do these deals to get new business, taking a bit of a hit in exchange for potential repeat customers. My friends feel a bit self-conscious about using a Groupon at places that already know them, maybe not by name, but they recognize them. Would you not care and get the Groupon anyway?
Would you buy a Groupon/LivingSocial/Y elp other deal for a place you already frequent?

I might, it would depend on what kind of deal I'd be getting.

Definitely depends on the place for me.
Make sure you check the fine print on the voucher! Some deals are only valid for new customers.

Thanks for the warning, that fine print is probably directly in response to regular customers using these offers! I will tell my friends about that. Maybe they will be more comfortable about using the offer if they knew there would be fine print on it restricting it to new users, as long as that's was the business' preference?

BTW, Sorry about the typos in my title & question! I meant the first sentence to read:
"I have noticed some nice Groupons for eateries I know some friends frequent regularly."

I'd definitely buy a Groupon for a place I enjoy - it's basically a fancy coupon.

i would definitely do it

Definitely--as long as they were for all customers. They still make money on the incidentals/extras that they are hoping you purchase while you are there...and a bit of money coming in is better than no money--could be the difference between staying in business or folding.

Yes I would! Why not?

Nope. I wouldn't support Groupon for anything. Probably wouldn't bother with Living Social, either, but only because I don't know that there's any place I frequent enough to qualify for a deal.

No. I have overheard venders having trouble with them,or the people who use them. I've also heard of customers having troubles using them.

I don't even really know what that is, so I guess no, I wouldn't use it. I get that it's apparently a group coupon, but the ins and outs, I do not know.

To add to my last post, I only use coupons at the grocery store anyways. The restaurant ones I have come across, I either don't care to use OR I lose anyways. I hardly go out to eat.
