This is so upsetting…
A U.S. Navy petty officer deployed in November, and left her dog in the care of her cousin in exchange for free rent. When she returned seven months later, her cousin told her the dog had been adopted out. The Navy officer tried to track her pet down via craigslist, and found out that her puggle was euthanized in December.
Here's the full story.
The cousin said "during the few weeks the dog was in her care, [the dog] defecated and urinated throughout the apartment, bit her twice and ran away twice. [She] also said [the owner] never contacted her to check on the dog’s welfare."
I've dealt with difficult animals, but I think the cousin had an obligation to work something out especially since she was being compensated financially.
What do you think?
