Do you think College Sports, like any other endeavor, clouded by HUGE amounts of money, have grown too big, and too powerful? Do you think it is time that Colleges..places of learning, start separating themselves from the huge money sports industry that college sports have become, or are they too intertwined at this point, to ever be tweased apart?
With all the sexual abuse scandals now swirling around college sports, has this just gotten to be TOO big a money business?

For one thing, colleges need money, especially to pay their presidents (the president of my public institution makes more than the President of the United States). They will never stop trying to make more money, regardless of whether they are "for profit" or not.
As far as the sex scandals go, I think some are just more publicized than others. People have always been abused behind closed doors, but previously, it was more taboo to talk about it or report it. And it's always considered "big news" when the abuse comes from some big name person or institution.
