I seems that the US postal service will no longer deliver first class mail on Saturday, starting August 1, 2013. This is in the financial interest and survivor-ability of the government agency. Will this decision be an inconvenience to you?
Will you miss Saturday delivery of US mail?

I will miss it, sure.. but it won't be the end of the world.
03/08/2013
I'll miss it but can live with it
03/09/2013
Not an issue at all. They could deliver mail 3x/week and that would work fine for me.
03/09/2013
It'll be okay. I will miss it but I understand that the budget cuts need to happen.

Yes, I think I will, but I'll get use to it.
03/09/2013
I wont miss it that much. It might make a difference one or two weeks a year. I can work around it.
03/09/2013
I think I read that they will still be delivering packages on Saturdays.
03/09/2013
Oh the anticipation of getting my packages! Such a bittersweet relationship we have!
03/09/2013
This is the first I've heard about it and I really don't like it.

Yes, you are right about packages, but first class mail is what they will NOT deliver!

That's annoying. I wish they weren't changing it.

I will miss Saturday delivery of mail
03/09/2013
AAAAAAH this makes me mad.
03/09/2013
Years ago I would have missed it but now with so many things done electronically - No.
03/09/2013
I'll probably miss it a little bit.
03/09/2013
Sorry to hear this news! I voted "other" though because this change doesn't affect me. I'm in Canada and we don't get mail here on Saturdays anyway lol.
03/09/2013
It probably wont be that bad. But I guess it depends on how badly you want your bills.
03/09/2013
It'll be an inconvenience, but I'll live. The USPS is antiquated anyway and will eventually be a thing of the past.
03/09/2013
Only bills come in the mail...not that big of an issue.
03/09/2013
It will be a bit of inconvenience but I not that worries about it
03/09/2013
Yes, I'll miss it.
In the interest of a reality-based discussion, this is a completely artificial crisis. The USPS doesn't cost taxpayers ANYTHING. But in 2006, Congress passed a law requiring the postal service to pre-fund its pension fund 75 years ahead — what other agency, public or private, does that? Congress did it to make their own books look better, not in an honest effort to help the USPS. This is KILLING the USPS. At the time, the postal service was already overfunding its retirement obligations and had in fact asked, repeatedly, for congressional RELIEF to prevent the problem we're now seeing. Read all about it.
So yeah, I'll miss Saturday delivery and I hope I'm not the only one who'll remember this nonsense when the next congressional elections roll around.

@ spiced, Exactly!! Thanks for alerting all the people who had no idea. I appreciate that you included a link to make it easy. (I remember the huge profits for the Post Office that Congress TOOK away, too. Congress is full of spoiled brats & needs some shaking up! Oh, let me add, IMHO )
