Wiiflix (as I call it) is the next most beautiful thing in the world after my girlfriend, astronomical events/phenomena, and the first snow of the season.
It's a monthly fee, straight up. You do need high-speed internet (no dsl or dial up), wireless pref.
It's amazing.

Never heard of Wiiflix. Pretty cool, but I am not hooking our wii up to the internet. There are enough cords down there as it is.

I have a wireless router that the Wii connect to automatically.
They have A LOT on demand. Anime, TV shows, MST3K, New-ish movies (about 2-3 months behind home release dates), kids shows, The Guild, Happy Tree Friends, Dollhouse...ZMD: Zombies of Mass Destruction...
You can go online and pick out things to watch on your Wii!
$9 A MONTH!
No wonder rental places are going under...

I so want this but I despised my Wii so much I sold it on Craigslist over a year ago. I'm seriously considering upgrading to PS3 (only pitfall is that lack of backwards compatibility...damn you, Sony!) when Christmas sales start because unlike the Wii, I'd actually use the Playstation for Netflix AND video games, whereas a Wii would just be an expensive movie player for me.

I just got Netflix, my boyfriend has been on this big movie renting kick for awhile and it was getting a bit pricey (especially since I tend to forget to take movies back) so I opted to get Netflix instead. I just got my 2nd movie today. I have the disk for my Wii but I haven't had time to hook it up. However, there's a decent amount of stuff on the instant movies and you can have a DVD out and still watch instant movies on the Wii or on your computer. I actually do have DSL and have no problems playing movies.

I just didn't like it at all. There was one Mario game I bought and beat in a week, and nothing else really appealed to me. They had a much smaller selection of Resident Evil and Silent Hill type games on it.

We've talked about getting a Wii for the livingroom and using it with Netflix too - maybe closer to XMas when there will surely be good sales.

Also, many of these questions can be answered by going to the NEtflix page and looking at the selection: But the most bizarre item yet to have a pink ribbon slapped on it must be Smith & Wesson's Pink Breast Cancer Awareness 9 mm Pistol, promoted by a woman named Julie Goloski, Smith and Wesson's Consumer Program Manager and a sharpshooter herself.

Cable is run by your cable provider and is faster than DSL.

While cable is capable of running at higher speeds, there is overlap. DSL is a type of high speed Internet and I will leave it at that.

The problem with using Netflix on your Wii is that, obviously, you're not going to get HD quality.
We got rid of our Wii because the graphics and definition were so terrible, and I'm happy we did. The only thing I liked was Just Dance and Wii Fit, and now that the XBox 360 has Kinect (we're beta testing it, it really is amazing) it blows the Wii (and the stupid PS3 wii knockoff with the 8 year old camera and lightbulb at the end of the PS version of the WiiMote) right out of the water.
Can't wait to get NetFlix on the 360, but it'll just be until we get the BoxeeBox (sp??) anyways.

I'd probably do the same then. :/ There are ways to hook them up to TVs though if you're willing to buy cables and hopefully not the wrong ones. Some newer ones only require an s-video cable.

You can say the catch-all "high speed" for both, you're just comparing it to dial-up

I've had Netflix on my Wii for about two months now and I LOVE it. There is a great variety of television shows and films that you can watch. However, the variety is not as great for instant viewing; there is less available. Yet, it is very satisfying. You simply search online for shows or films that you would like to watch and click "Add to Instant Queue" and the show or film immediately appears on the Wii. You can have as many shows of films on your Instant Queue as you would like. And yes, you can watch entire television series, as many as you want. As for the shows and films that are not instant, you can request to have the DVD sent via mail. Depending on the package you select, you can get so many DVDs shipped at once (the more DVDs, the more expensive the package). I have the basic package and that is satisfying enough. And by the way, because of Netflix, I got hooked on Weeds and cannot wait for the sixth season to come out instantly.
