Why do you have sex? Or in general why do humans have sex? I know the biological reasons, but sex is more than just procreative. So, why? Is it the physical pleasure? Is it for companionship?

Release of endorphins !
But I also love an adrenaline rush.

To show a person that I feel something for them. To release my emotions. To release. To bring my lover to a point of ecstasy and use them to get off inside of. Many reasons, different depending on the day. Ultimately, it's to engage in something pleasurable for both my partner and me, so that I can show them how much I care for them through giving them orgasm and intense satisfaction.

There are lots of different reasons, just like there are lots of different types of sex:
1. Fun
2. Romance
3. Wanting to be close to a person
4. It.just.happens.
5. Five minutes until House starts, quickie

LMAO Yeah, pretty much all of those and more. When you're in love, sex is just part and parcel. You want to be with the person you love to bring them pleasure, to feel close to them, because it feels fantastic... and so forth.

I do it for pleasure and fun.

A few reasons.
- The intimacy
- The bonding
- The feelings I get from it: pleasure and feeling wanted.

Biologically, humans have sex for bonding and recreation purposes. The hormones released during sex and after orgasm create what we call love. Chemicals like opulents and androstonene paired with HMC determine whom we bond with. There's an episode from the Discovery Channel called "The Science of Sex: Attraction that will help explain what all of those things are far better than I can. It's pretty fascinating if you want a scientific answer to your question.

It's also a great way to show my partner how I feel about them.
I am a highly sexual person. I can't imagine not having sex.

The Human Female Animal is one of the few mammals that can have sex without being in estrus. (The fertile time.)
The reason for continual ability to mate is believed be an evolutionary mechanism to keep the human male animal around, because our young are so labor intensive, women need someone to care for them and protect them and their young while the young are not old enough to fend for themselves. Seeing as human infants cannot fend for themselves for, on average more than 10 years and often nurse for 4 years or more, that requires a partner to protect, feed and nurture us throughout that time. That means we have to have some way to KEEP that male human around. Male animals will stick around if sex is available, so it's a win win situation.
Human female animals also evolved the ability to also enjoy sex all month long, so she has reason to continue to have relations with her mate even if there are no young to care for.
That's the anthropological explanation, anyway.

Many reasons. First and foremost, connecting with my hubby on the most intimate level available. The pleasure of it is another great reason. There are honestly too many to name. Sex with my hubby is incredible. And I would do it all day, everyday if I could.

Because it feels so very good?
09/01/2011
It's the pleasure and closeness
09/01/2011
For me, it's about the connection first, satisfying the itch second. Some men don't seem to get that I'm not in a rush for an orgasm and just want to enjoy the closeness.
Meh.
Meh.
