Why be fake on a date?

Contributor: pixxie87 pixxie87
i have heard that on first dates girls order salads when they actually feel like eating something more filling like a burger. Why be fake around someone you hardly know? If you like him then just do what ever makes you happy. Girls are crazy.

Many are under the impression that guys want to see them maintain their figure, and they have the discipline to do so. I think it's only catering to the fat-phobes who only date girls of a certain size. Sadness, really ... we perpetuate lies because of insecurity. Must be hell to maintain a relationship with the sort who only pays attention to the packaging.

People are very concerned about first impressions. I think women do this because they are often judged (harshly) about their weight and appearance.

Personally, on my first date with my husband I had a burger and fries, and then I took the tomato, lettuce and pickle from his plate. I'm all about keepin' it real.

I am a total foodie, so eating a lettuce salad on a date would be a no go for me, lol!!

I don't. I'm picky about food. I don't really like salads. Everyone eats and if the guy is interested in me he obviously likes the way I look NOW so why do I need to change anything unless I WANT to? If someone is taking me out to eat I'm going to get something that I LIKE and fills me up.

I have never done that, if I want something I'll just order it and eat it.

i'll eat whatever I'm craving. I never care what people think. And if a guy doesn't like it then he can leave

I think that a guy has to just let things be real; make the girl feel comfortable! If a guy expects otherwise, he is being fake!!

I always ate whatever I felt like on the first date. My personal feeling was that if a guy liked me enough to ask then he likes me as the person I am--not someone neither one of us knows.

I've ordered salads on dates with guys... but usually because I'm a vegetarian and the only acceptable item I found was a salad, or because i wasn't too hungry. Just eat what you want.

But, anyway, women tend to be under a lot of pressure to never be seen eating, especially "larger" women like myself.

I think girls can just be nervous and want to make a decent impression and not look like they eat a lot or something. I wouldn't order a lot, but I would definitely order something that I wanted like a chicken wrap or fries. That's what I would order normally and he'd realize it sooner or later anyways.
