I've seen a couple of polls on here about guns, but nothing that breaks it down by the types of guns Edenites own.

Do you have guns in your home? If so, what kind(s)? Also--have you received any firearms training? And if you have kids, do you keep your weapons safely locked up?

I don't own a gun and never would. It sickens me that U.S. culture glamorizes and fetishizes guns so much. They're incredibly dangerous to have around.

I own quite a few guns. Many pistols, rifles, shotguns and assault rifles, yet I didn't buy them, nor have I ever shot them. I keep them locked in a safe and they're basically a memory from my father.

There's nothing wrong in MY OPINION!, to own guns of any type except for automatic ones! A person should have to follow safety courses! And all and any guns ( cross bows) as well..., any type of weapon that shoots should be registered!
Up here in Canada ya have to follow a safety course then ya have to apply for cards to either just use a firearm and purchase bullets or a different card to own and do any sorts of purchases. It's a hastle but it makes others feel more safe! Usually it's not the honest fella that's going to go out on a killing rampage! It's someone that's been ill for sometime.

We own a few guns and have taken the proper safety courses. We also have applied for our concealed weapons permits and should be receiving the letter in the mail any day now.

We've taken courses and now we are waiting on a date for the concealed weapons class. It's going to be an all day class! I've always been down for protecting myself and I grew up around guns so I know how to use them and I know what I'm doing.

I don't own any guns. I'm not a fan of them and I have a small child in my house. I know people try to be safe with their guns around kids but it seems like accidents seem to happen a lot anyway. It isn't worth risking the life of my child to keep them around.

As far as gun ownership in general goes I don't understand why we make people get a permit to carry a gun but not to own one. Because really, if you own a gun there is nothing stopping you from carrying it anyway.

I used to go the firing range with my uncle. I took a couple of courses on safety and marksmanship. I have a concealed carry permit and I used to carry a pistol before I moved here. Also had a shotgun. Never kept them locked up. I've always enjoyed target shooting, but I no longer have the desire to be armed and dangerous on a daily basis.

When my son was little, I gave him hands on instruction on how to be safe with an actual firearm. (Of course this was NOT a onetime lecture either) My goal of removing the obsessive curiosity of the "forbidden fruit" was accomplished.
We never had an instance of unauthorized access of my firearm(s).
