With gas prices so high, are you still picky and insist on national brands only, or do you fill up at a bargain station? Since we do not own cars with high-tech engines, we take full advantage of the gas reward discounts provided by our local supermarket chains, and fill our cars up at their stations at a much lower price.
WHERE do you fill up your gas tank?

I drive until I'm on empty and then pull into the first gas station I see so long as it's not Shell. I don't pay much attention to the price because it's all so expensive. I forced myself to stop looking a few months back because it was driving me crazy. I do try to go to cheaper stations, but I don't obsess over it.

Fred meyers, they are on the way home.

I'll wait until my tank's almost empty, and fill up at the cheapest station I can find. There also aren't as many national brand stations, mostly local stations around.

I've read from some car forums that driving on an almost empty tank hurts your engine, maybe you should avoid doing so for the sake of your car!

We fill up at the local Caseys up the street unless we're not in town. We're just creatures of habit, but I do wish our favorite chain was nearby (Kwik Star). Caseys is just our second favorite.

I've been filling up at Kroger and using my points for a discount... which is aaaaawesome!! LOL
02/19/2012
I go wherever I can use my card at the pump. I don't want to have to go inside the store to pay.

I have gotten gas maybe 5 times in my life. My husband always does it. we are currently sharing a car. Before that I shared a car with my dad and he usually did it.

Kwik Trip 99% of the time since it is 1/8th of a mile down the road.

Costco, since it's easy to do it while out grocery shopping. The discount certainly is nice over other local prices.
02/19/2012
no car,so no gas station.
02/19/2012
I fill up where ever.. I wasn't aware of "bargain" gas stations. All the prices are pretty much the same around here.
02/20/2012
I fill up at around a quarter tank, at the cheapest place I can find.

My husband usually ends up putting the gas in my car from Costco cuz it's cheaper than everywhere else, but as for me I just pull in at the first cheap gas station that isn't a Thornton's. I try to avoid Citgo gas as well if I can.
02/20/2012
for me it just depends on how much gas I have, where I am, and what the cost is. Most often BP ends up being the best choice anyway. My truck also runs better on it.
02/20/2012
freddies, they are close and the cheapest by at least .10 cents a gallon.
02/21/2012
Sams club. Use to at costco but we moved n sams became closer
02/22/2012
It depends on how short on cash we are. If the money is there, Ill fill up wherever. If money is tight, we ride it til its running on fart fumes and then fill up when he gets his check LOL.

I go to Mobil all the time.

I don't search obsessively for cheap gas, so it's usually just wherever I need to fill up when the car is running low. I have no real station loyalty.
That said, being able to walk to work sure has helped to cut my gas bills!

Supermarkets around here don't sell gas. That sounds wild to me!
I just go to the Cumby's down the corner. Maybe it's Exon? I don't even know. But it's usually cheapest, and it's closest.

i do the same, and pull into wherever as long as it's not BP. i can't believe there are even still BP stations in existence after the gulf disaster of 2010.

wherever it's cheapest

I'll fill up at any major chain other than Citgo. I try to stay away from the smaller "mom & pop" stores in the area, just because it's pretty well known that (locally, at least) they don't keep up on their equipment maintenance and there's a good chance you'll get water in your tank.
