Have you considered an online dating forum? This way you can meet gels online and get to know them before you meet in person. It takes some stress off and you don't have to deal with the bar scene.

If you don't want to do an online service, you can also consider volunteering for something you really love, or joining a group to do an activity you really love. That will guarantee right off the bat that any woman you meet will have at least one thing in common with you.

friends first then see what happens...you can meet women anywhere, work church, the grocery store, movies, a bar...They are every where.

I agree that getting active in things you enjoy and/or are interested in is a good place to start. Even if you don't meet someone by doing that, it can improve your self esteem when you pursue things you are interested in, which will make you more attractive to the ladies.
