Do you prefer a fresh, long-time prepared, home-cooked meal? Or just something quick; Maybe out of the box, fast food, etc.?

And why? (Explain in the comments)

I try to cook every day. We do a lot a veggie with everything. We try to get a good variety as well. This weekend I made spinach calzones and than spaghetti and meatballs. Both took forever because I did everything by scratch but it was worth it.

I honestly prefer something healthy, even if it takes a long time to prepare. I'm struggling with my weight, even though I'm only slightly overweight. So everytime I make something fast, I know that it's hurting me either with it's preservatives or just calories and fat grams.

If I don't have a lot of time I'll make some chicken broth or a salad to make things easy. I hate the idea of going to a fast food restaurant. I get bloated for days after eating those kinds of things.

It's definitely worth it - and you'll always notice that it tastes better than something made cheaply or out of the box. My husband brought home those Kraft "Cheesy" meals because they're quick to make but I wont touch them. They're loaded with preservatives and calories that I don't need.

LOL! I don't think I have an exception. Mine may be Cracker Barrel, which I know isn't exactly fast food but I consider all restaurants fast food these days.

We'll pick up a cooked chicken from the grocery deli or I come up with healthy, simple meals that are easy to cook. If I were the one doing the shopping and we had the cash it took to get a full week at a time, I'd be making things like pot roast and loin roasts and all of that much more often. But, it's just not possible right now.

I generally do not have the time or energy to prepare an elaborate meal. But I don't think healthy and quick are mutually exclusive. Healthy meals can be quick to prepare if you have the right kind of supplies on hand.

On a day when there's not much else going, I'll cook a meal that requires lots of preparations. If I'm feeling a little exhausted from other chores, but still need to cook, I'll serve rib eye/chuck eye steaks with baked potatoes and salad. Steaks are the easiest thing to cook in this world!

I use to love fast food, but after awhile it gets old! Plus I'm very picky but I would rather have a home cooked meal (=

I prefer something that takes more work than opening a box. I'm really not a fan of freezer meals either, too much non-food in the food.

When my room mate says "I'll just have a bowl of cereal." it makes me have a sad. Cereal is NOT a meal.

We tend to eat a variety of items, depending on the day of the week and the amount of time for dinner. One of our quick meals is popcorn, apples and cheese. It may sound bad for you, but it tastes great and is actually fairly healthy. With both of us being light eaters anymore, simple meals are the best. We don't need and don't eat large meals, so simple and easy is best.

Everything I make is home made and typically very healthy. Have bean and bacon chowder on the stove right now

I always cook! I almost never buy fast food, tho sometimes I wish it didn't take so long to cook. I've been trying to eat more healthy but I dont check carbs or anything like that. Just whatever me and my husband feel like eating. I can cook just about anything you could ask for thats traditional (southern fried, or italian foods or steak dinner etc) and most everything I make is from scratch. I hardly ever buy boxed foods either.

I *love* cooking! But healthy doesn't necessarily correspond with taking a long time to prepare. Hummus and pita are super-quick, and chopping a vegetable takes no more time than reheating a tv dinner.

Basically---I'm for home-cooked food, unless it's for something social, or if I'm doing research for something I want to learn to cook. It can be healthy (and usually is), but it can also be unhealthy... it can take me hours to prepare on a weekend, or just 25 minutes on a weeknight... but I want to cook it myself

I just love food. I don't have time to cook very often, but I make sure to visit the parents a few times a month so I can have a real meal

I'm really not that picky. Since I work all day and she stays home (her choice), she usually makes supper or plans it. I'm grateful to eat about anything if she's willing to make it or plan it.

I have lived on whatever's fastest for years now, and I'm finally making a real effort to eat a bit better. My issue is that I leave eating until I'm starvingly hungry, and I don't want to have to put the time in to cook something at that point. Clearly it's going to have to be a life reorganizing on a few levels, hah

I prefer something easy if I'm tired, so sometimes fast food/microwaved/frozen stuff just has to do. If I tried to cook when I'm exhausted, it would put me in a terrible mood!

I prefer things that take longer if I'm cooking, but if my husband is cooking, I want him to hurry up and get it done. So a mix of everything is good for me.
