No, but I usually don't bring my own snacks in. My mom does it all the time because she eats really healthy foods (which the movie doesn't have). She's never been caught.
One time we went to Trilogy Tuesday (which was the day they played all three Lord of the Rings films back to back). We were actually allowed to bring food in for that. My mom decided to bring tuna of all things, which stinks to high heaven. Uck. I was so mad at her. If you're bringing food to the movies, bring things that don't offend the senses.
I worked at a movie theater for over five years. We didn't care if you were hiding stuff, but if it was obvious we would say something. When they cleaned they would find buckets from KFC and other random stuff. I would bring in Jimmy Johns or whatever when I saw a movie since it was usually after I worked there all day probably got some strange looks, but oh well. Plus the purse can hide anything I brought a bottle of wine and glasses in before!

Gosh, thanks for sharing! I may try and bring a Subway next time!! Not sure where to put or hide it though!!
No, I bring my own snacks/drinks into the movies every now and then and I've never been caught. I usually carry a huge purse, and I'll sometimes keep a drink or a snack in there anyways, whether I'm going to the movies or not. One time when I was younger I brought in a can of pop and cracked it open during a quiet part of the movie and it seemed to echo through the whole theater. So I try not to bring loud things anymore.
No, but I thought last night was going to be the night. We bought a small bag of cotton candy as donation at WalMart and I wanted to bring it in but it won't fit in my purse so I had my fiance stand back while I got popcorn and pop. Then we put napkins over the bag and carried it in. We didn't get caught.
No one cares though as far as other movie goers. Lots of people pull stuff out of their purse and pockets. We always bring our own candy.
I haven't done that, but I never buy snacks or drinks at the movie theater. My sister used to carry a huge bag and sneak all kinds of drinks and snacks in, and she probably still does.
It's nice to know they don't care if we sneak snacks in as long as it's not too obvious. Thanks for sharing that with us Owl, now I won't feel guilty if I do decide to sneak something in.
I tend to spend the 5 dollars on a large drink, I like fountain drinks much better than bottles.
But I always take candy in or chips. My local theaters have crappy stale popcorn that I refuse to pay for.

Also I forgot to mention that i've never been caught
I don't bring stuff in very often, but every so often I get mad about how outrageous the prices are, and how ridiculously huge the the servings are and I slip in a can of DC. You do have to chose a noisy sceen to open it though!
Very easy when you're female - nobody questions The Purse.
Indeed. Shopping bags are also good for this - usually no one checks them. I usually have at least a bottle of soda/water/juice, and sometimes candy. Also once managed a one-pound ham sandwich (in a theater I knew would be fairly empty - I wouldn't bring something so big otherwise). I've never been caught.

I wonder with the recent shootings in a Colorado theater, if the security will get tighter and that such things like bringing in our own food will stop?
Most of the theaters I go to don't care if you bring your own snacks, as long as you try to hide it enough that you'll probably clean after yourself. I love bringing snacks of my own choice into the theater, though I don't especially love when people near me bring alcohol and don't even try to be subtle about it.
Never my own snacks, but I brought a big can of Arizona green tea, and security ended up coming up to me because they thought I was drinking a tall can of beer. I was 13. Lol!
