WHEN do you "work out"?

Contributor: Bignuf Bignuf
In preparation for our FIRST EVER full marathon, we have been walking and running. We also do dance lessons...with an upcoming wedding of our daughter, next year.

We admire people who get up in the morning to go to the gym, but it is IMPOSSIBLE for us, as we both go into work at 5 am. Upon getting home we are BEAT, and so "stopping by the gym" to work out then is not an option either. We find we must do our RUN/WALK pretty late in evening (after 8pm) usually mostly in the dark. Kind of stinks, but can't seem to find any other time that really works.

Anyone else have this same problem?

When do YOU "work out"???

Wow good luck! My best friend runs them all the time. Totally not my thing.

I like to do a short work out in the morning to kick start my metabolism, but the rest of my workout is usually late in the day or overnight.

The only workout I get is when I'm on top. I'm naturally thin and my metabolism is *knock on wood* really high.

My husband and I do it first thing in the morning to make sure that we actually get it in for the day, otherwise we can't ever seem to find the time during the day or evening that we're both free to do it together.

Good luck on your marathon!

Try working out on your lunch. You won't be beat & it's not 3am

I depends on my schedule, but generally mid afternoon to the night. any time between 2PM-10 PM. Personally I hate early morning workouts, because I just cannot wake up easily.

This is just personal experience, so it may not translate to other people, but I've found three important things about working out.
1. later workouts, tend to be easier, although this may be because of coffee. 2. Giving blood will weaken a person for the first week or two afterwards. 3. climaxing before a workout will temporarily weaken a person (or a man at least, it may not hinder women the same way) so it's best to wait until after exercising for sex or masturbation.

we have a gym at my apartment that we can get into at any time, but it's a sad gym. if i go to the gym, i walk over to the school's gym (which is enormous, has tons of equipment, 2 pools, quite a few free classes, & is only about a 10 min walk from my apartment since i live right next to the campus). there are only 2 days during the school week that i would have time in the morning to use the school gym since it's not open 24 hrs, but i can't get myself up in the mornings to work out. i've found that if i make myself go right after class, & don't even go back to my apartment 1st, then i actually go & get through my workouts. i haven't been able to the past 2 weeks, though, b/c i've been so busy w/ school & all my projects & assignments.

It works best if I exercise first thing in the morning. Otherwise I just put it off and am too tired by the end of the day to do it.

I do Zumba in the evenings, and I usually go to the latest class (6pm or later). A coworker and I walk around our office building a few afternoons each week for about 15 minutes, and I'm also trying to get back into the habit of walking to work EVERY day (it's only .5 mile, but I have award-winning excuse skills! ).

It's not really a problem so much as you just have to be committed to it. If you are not eating healthy and you start to eat healthy you will see tremendous gains in energy for the day as well. I always workout at night, sometimes I don't want to, but always worth it!
